well, as i side, I barely even drink. highest alcohol content in a drink i had was from a Jack & coke and it wasn't even a lot because drinks are expensive at concerts.

but yeah, the feeling that if you want to drink you could totally drink is awesome

Alberta's drinking age is 18.
BC's is 19.
I'm an immigrant and where I'm from, I can totally drink.
I'm on vacation so I can drink, but when I go back to BC it's back to being underaged.

they upped the age limit to smoke from 18 to 21 in new york. it's fking bullshit. i dont even smoke but its fking bullshit. (i lied, i cant get mah rolling paper normally now.)
User avatar #296 - rplix (08/19/2014) [-]
I'm ok with it.

Honestly, once you get to college if you can't find someone to get you beer then there's something wrong with you.
User avatar #250 - StickyTissueLoLz (08/19/2014) [-]
Brain doesn't finish developing until we're between 20-25. Seems perfectly reasonable if you have an ounce of self-control.
#333 - doctorworm (08/20/2014) [-]
but then why should you be allowed to go to war if your brain isn't fully developed ?

glorious 18-year-old-drinking-age master race.
I barely even drink.
but I love the feeling and freedom that I can buy a beer if I feel like buying a beer.

You Americans should follow suit.

and if you aren't american, then let me rephrase.

Those americans should follow suit
#128 - ogloko (08/19/2014) [-]
yeah its shitty. but i started drinking at like 16 and it was easy enough to get alcohol and i never got in trouble with the police. as long as one is not a dipshit, one should be able to enjoy their beverages without impediment. really the only thing that has changed since turning 21 is i pay really high prices for drinks at bars sometimes.
#125 - Odesius (08/19/2014) [-]
Not only does brain development only stop at or around 21 years, but your eyes also continue to develop until at or around 21. They didn't just change the legal drinking age because they were bored...
#124 - sketchysketchist (08/19/2014) [-]
**sketchysketchist rolled image**

I think the legal age to buy alcohol should be 21, but if someone who's over 21 and responsible for the underage person is willing to give them beer, it shouldn't be a big deal.
However, if there's a party of 20 or less year olds getting shitfaced, the punishment should be something like a year's worth of community service so they can feel stupid for thinking that drinking makes you cool and not knowing that alcohol can lead to liver cancer and alcohol poisoning if not kept under check. And that they should brush once a day and floss twice a day, and have yearly check-ups at their dentist offices for nice healthy teeth. Knowledge is half the battle. GI JOE!!!
#91 - xxxsonic fanxxx (08/19/2014) [-]
Pretty bullshit. Needs to be 25.
You little douchebags are retarded enough already without alcohol.
"hur dur I can go to war but I cant drink beer lol dis country is so backwards lol murica"
Go fuck yourself you little yoloswag faggot. Fighting for your country should be a fucking honor. Not some excuse to cry about not being allowed to get shitfaced.
#154 - doctorworm (08/19/2014) [-]

User avatar #84 - thegamerslife (08/19/2014) [-]
I don't as it's the end of brain development (on average). now as for the argument about being able to serve and shit, I don't think that legal age should be 18, it should be 21. you should have to live as an adult for at least 3 years before there attempts of brainwashing work and you sign your life away.
a lot of people don't see a future coming right out of high school and buy into it and join... so yeah, that is my stance.
#93 - xxxsonic fanxxx (08/19/2014) [-]
"before there attempts of brainwashing work and you sign your life away. "

Is that what /pol/ told you to think?
User avatar #95 - thegamerslife (08/19/2014) [-]
No, I just know that about 60-70% of all the stories of signing up were out of desperation or something, not patriotism or some sense of duty.
#97 - xxxsonic fanxxx (08/19/2014) [-]
You mean the stories you heard on /pol/?
User avatar #105 - thegamerslife (08/19/2014) [-]
wtf is pol, dude!? I've talked to family, friends and even some people around town.

I even have a cousin who was so blatantly lied to he completely believed he would be at a desk the whole time. ended up on base in the desert with a gun doing patrols or something. came home, smoked weed so we wouldn't have to back and never talks about it.

on the other hand another relative who is a tool and did one tour, in a kitchen the whole time on base, never seeing action and now claims to have PTSD, some retina issue and milks the shit out of the benefits granted to him.

so, I googled "what is pol". I've never even gone to 4chan. been coming here for 11 years, and just recently got a reddit account (david0990).

tl;dr I have a life outside of the internet, and based my opinion on that, not off of some stupid threads online.
