comradewinter (12/13/2015) [-] That's just power play. Heads of powerful states can do a lot of carnage, company owners who buy drug licenses generally can't do as much. hitler was directly responsible for atleast 40 million deaths in total. not counting in the losses he caused to germanny by refusing to admit defeat towards the end of the war, and his terrible campaigning and no retreat policy(the death score would rise up to near 70 million then) stalin also was directly responsible for similiar amount of numbers. again, not counting the numbers via purifications and his war time tactics. mao's endeavors are a little less, but still around 20 million range. gengish khan's kd might have been a little shorter than the other three but his ventures killed about 40 million people according to some historians, and reduced the world population by 11% and his conquest of the world is considered to be one of the deadliest times in human history idk how a guy who is just a money grubbing whore could stand up to that #14 -
comradewinter (12/13/2015) [-] Hitler wasn't responsible for 40 million deaths. He was just a charismatic face for the Reich, the true rule was done by his advisers. Plus, holding him accountable for every single Allied loss of life when Great Britain declared war on him first is just hogwash. He wanted the German areas of Poland, but ended up in a massive war. And assuming he was indeed in charge of all of Germany (which he wasn't), Germany still flourished under him, going from bankrupt dystopia to the most powerful nation in the world. So Stalin somehow killed 40 million people without actually killing them? How did he do that? Famine? Disease? Doesn't work that way. He was a fair asshole, but then again, someone with immense power. The Soviet Union was built on the foundations he laid. Industrializing a country with an extreme ideology and under severe pressure from a war that cost 30 million lives (and no, his war tactics have been extremely exaggerated), tends to make some bodies. A douchebag, but there have been far worse. They just didn't rule over as many people, nor have the means. You don't conquer almost all of Asia without leaving bodies. He was surprisingly tolerant, contrary to popular belief. He allowed for freedom of religion, and kept foreigners as advisers and government figures. Thing is, the three did a lot of awful things, but they also did positive things. Shkreli just fucks up everywhere he goes. When you have a 100% asshole rating, it makes you a full-on asshole. If he's willing to make lives sour for people just to make some easy cash, what do you think would happen if he'd been in charge of some of the most powerful empires in the world? 10 million from the various death squads he created and the rest comes from german war efforts STARTED BY HITLER. hitler was warned to not to attack poland, and to stop the expansion or there would be war, and he still went on with his attack, THUS war was born. also as for "flourishing germanny" that has been debunked so many times its almost sad to see people think he really did do any economic reforms... germanny was running on inflation, even without the war; their diplomatic relations were ruined thanks to hitler refusing to pay the war reparations to the allieds, and the only thing keeping germanny afloat was the german military plundering the captured areas for resources (something that guaranteed that the german occupiers would never be accepted by the locals) stalingrad and leningrad. stalin refused to let the military evacuate the place, causing more losses than nessesary, then came his purges which also killed millions of people, and then came his usage of zerg tactics that lead to EVEN MORE deaths on russians. "hey the guy killed 11% of the worlds population, but atleast we are allowed to worship whatever we like! certainly he is a good chap!" only good thing coming from hitler was animal rights and anti smoking activity, stalin ruined the idea of communism for years to come and honestly didnt do that much good to the world in the end no matter how you look at soviets economy plan (which ended up fucking russian economy up in the longer run) . and gengis, while being the least dickiest of the bunch, was still a genocidal warlord unlike ever seen before or after his reign. shekeli is just greedy. #18 -
comradewinter (12/13/2015) [-] Why do I even bother arguing with you when you don't even read up on the matters anyway? This happens all the time. Menial and pointless. He didn't create shit. Like I said, he was nothing but an image. He was an artist with a small passion for politics, but what he really wanted was fame. The Nazi party secured that he could attain power and wealth, he secured the people by being a decorated war hero who could captivate people by speeches. If we are to blame countries for not adhering to threats, every country would be to blame. You cannot maintain an economy in a large country by invading smaller countries. If that had been the case he'd need to invade far more countries, and take absolutely everything that wasn't bolted down. Most countries that Germany "plundered" experienced growth as well. Most of Germany's power was established by the time Czechoslovakia was invaded. That was long before the war when they truly waged war. 20 million out of the 30 million Soviets dead were civilians. You know why? Because unlike France, Norway and whatnot the Germans had orders to execute every single Russian they came across. The Soviet Union couldn't afford a loss at any cost, lest the enemy would be able to march on Moscow and kill even more civilians. The barrier at Stalingrad gave Moscow time to rally troops there, so the Wehrmacht could be repelled there and the Soviet counteroffensive could begin. You just said the purges weren't accounted for, so how exactly does it amount to 40 million dead? The zerg rush is just bullshit. It happened on occasion, usually in Stalingrad post-blitzkrieg, and after exhausting every other option. It was sit still and die, surrender and die, or charge in and cause some damage before you died. No country in WW2 was faced with a more difficult situation than the Soviets (apart from Poland, but they outright got wiped), so drastic measures were taken. As far as statistics go, Axis forces lost 4.5 million soldiers in battle, the Soviets lost 7. Considering the blitzkrieg, the superior German technology, and their superior training, the whole zerg rush thing is simply debunked by the effectiveness of the Red Army. Genghis wasn't worse than anyone else, he was just better. It's like saying white people are the most cruel people in the world because we were big at imperialism and slavery. It's a matter of effectiveness. No other army was able to wipe others off the face of the planet as easily as the Mongol horde, so he far exceeds what others could do. When you consider how many millions of people he ruled over, that exaggerated 40 million doesn't become so large when his life was mostly fueled by war. Don't make the mistake of applying today's ethics and morals to people in the past; by that standard, nobody has ever been good, and nobody is good today as the world will change in the future. War wasn't unusual back then, and the treatment Genghis gave to the people he conquered wasn't worse than what others gave. Again, it's a matter of what you do with your power. The Obama administration has gotten far more people killed than every single serial killer in US history, yet they aren't seen as bad. They bring good things and bad things. Shkreli just brings bad, and fortunately he's just a greedy corporate asshole. But what little power he has, he abuses. why do i even bother arguing with you since you seem to gargle pols cock so eagerly.. hitler was an egomaniac, he thought himself a divine gift for earth, had delusions that his people were descendant of the "aryans" (who dont even exist) and was the mastermind behind the nazi ideology. and you cannot "rebuild economy" in less than 5 years when you are starting from the sctraches either..and yes, german economy was already dying before the world started, hitler tried to combat the poorness by taking over the factories and printing more money(which, mind you: is a bad thing) and most of hitlers "decorations from wartime" were propaganda. and only an idiot would not adhere to warnings from rival powers who are basically saying THERE WILL BE A SECOND WORLD WAR IF YOU KEEP INVADING OUR ALLIES >he far exceeds what others could do. except people like alexander acquired similiar results with considerably less murder.. and yes it actually is... thats 11% of the worlds population back then. in current times that would be about....what? 700 million?????Yeah...that aint a lot at all... obama administration also hasnt raped, pillaged or butchered people in the world just to give off an image of a terrifying foe like gengis khan, they haventh systematically tried to hunt down every minority, lock them into a camp and start genociding them like hitler, nor have they started purging their country from people they dislike like staling did. shekeli is a dick, but he isnt even nearly the biggest dick in the history of the world. nor can he even be seen in the same scale as the bigger dicks can be. Just saying, the Mongolian empire was five and a half times the size of Alexander's. Obama administration also hasn't expanded its borders, so it's retarded to compare them to conquerers. just saying he still managed to kill the equivalent of 700 million people in todays world. his reign is considered to be the deadliest time to be a human being. and no other war or time period has ended with as many deaths as his did...except maybe one of the chinese wars.but most of those lasted for 3 or 4 generations. heck, even muslims and christians. in their entire thousand of years of existence have only racked up kill counts of around 140 million. and thats entire religions versus one empire. #22 -

anon (12/13/2015) [-] Wasn't that just a creepy pasta. I've seen that on Adult Swim and never though shit about it until the creepy pasta. Is it sad/weird one of the fondest memories I have were falling asleep to Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, and Harvey Birdman: Ace Attorney at Law? I was fairly young when II saw this for the first time. I wasn't supposerd to be up so late and I didn't realize it was a commercial. In my midnight stupor of a child who had never stayed up past midnight I was convinced that this was why I wasn't allowed to watch tv at night. The music, the eyes, all of it was terrifying to me at the time. This was compacted to the trifecta of awful when my dad woke up and happened to walk in on me watching tv at nearly 4 am. It wasn't for another four years until I felt safe enough to watch tv at night again. Weird. Ive never been scared of fictional things like that outside of jump scares. Grew up on Alien, Scarface, and dozens of other action/horror/sci-fi movies. fuck man I barely remember this shit. I cant even remember seeing that shit on air. If I saw that as a kid Id probably get nightmares cause I had this one nightmare( my first nightmare to be exact) where I was in a dark room and saw these big wide open gaping eyes just staring at me. been scared of bulging eyes ever since. Dont know why you got thumbed down. That shit was terrifying. And most bumps are great. Makes it seem really chill.

| plus, that would mean that if thor was not touching it, it would stop moving, since it is still a fixed point in space. Meaning that if thor threw it, it would leave his hand and float in mid air. Also, a "Fixed point in space" doesn't make sense... motion and position are entirely relative. Think about this: If you put a cup on a table, it's not moving, right? but what if you're on a train? The cup is stationary to you, but moving at 70 miles per hour to somebody outside the train, and thousands and thousands of miles per hour to somebody not on earth, since earth is spinning, and orbitting, and the whole solar system is moving, the whole galaxy is hurtling through space, the entire universe is expanding... everything is moving relative to something. SO, my point: if it was a fixed point in space, fixed relative to what? the fact that it doesn't move when people on earth try to move it, if it were a fixed point, means it's fixed relative to Earth, which is super random and would cause a LOT of problems if it left earth mjolnir would be moving with Earth's orbit and relative motion, even when somewhere that is not moving the same way, like Asgard If you say it's relative to the universe, that causes more problems: hammer stays still, earth moves. hammer is a fixed point, but we sure as fuck aren't. Saying it's "the mass of a neutron star" also causes problems, since that much mass in that small volume would be a black hole, or at least close, and would fuck up SO MUCH SHIT with it's gravity. basically, #10 got it right: It's space magic, you can't explain it with science because it doesn't work with science. #31 -
secretdestroyers (12/12/2015) [-] It's forged in the heart of a dying star....when a large star dies in a supernova, it's remains can collapse into a neutron star, the result of which is comparable to the mass of the sun compressed into the size of a small city. One teaspoon of this material (neutronium) would weigh billions of tonnes. So, even before the enchantment, how Thor (or anyone for that matter) is able to lift it is baffling. I mean, we may see Thor as a god,but he's not one, ultimately. And, strong as he is, if he is able to lift something of countless tonnes, he should be able to lift a goddamn building! Also, as far as mass goes, Mjolnir is likely just a weaker version of Ronan's hammer in that instead of manipulating virtually any outside matter, it can manipulate its own matter in addition to messing with electrical fields. It fluctuates, dense when it needs to smack a bitch, only becoming heavy as a freight train for an instant of impact, light as a feather when it flies into Thor's hand. It was forged in the heart of a dying star, it's not composed of dying star matter. Even if it were, turning that matter into a metallic substance would probably change its properties and density. So, basically, if scientists and engineers here on Earth had access to Asgardian magic and alchemy they could really fuck some shit up!....I mean....save the...world. If we had access to Asgardian magitek without the thousands of years of honorable warrior culture and racial unity the Asgardians have known, we would probably destroy the fucking universe fighting each other. The Asgardians are one people, mostly unified in purpose. Compared to them we're a bunch of disparate tribes squabbling over material wealth.
