Capitalism is the greatest shit ever, when it is fully realized. Right now the US is not capitalistic at all, it is actually rather socialistic with the government rules/regulations that have been put in place in major private sectors (I.E. healthcare). In a truly capitalistic system healthcare would be much cheaper - instead the government uses regulations to ensure the same 3 companies rule the entire industry and can charge whatever they want.

I can agree with the part about experience, but when it comes to work ethics it varies from person to person. Personally I value my work over my health and I earn 153kr/h, 300 000kr a year (a little less than 19$/h with a yearly income of around 40 000$) and in my country that is actually a pretty lousy pay with the average pay being 450 000kr (around 55 000$). One of my friends on the other hand earn around 2 000 000kr a year (244 000$) and he barely even do his work and use every oppertunity he gets to skip it. So while experience may have something to do with the pay, work ethics in my opinion differs from person.

It's crazy how many people think that every wealthy person hasn't worked and has simply inherited the money. Even if they inherited it, kudos to them for taking care of their money and for those who have been able to make that sum of money grow.

Thing is that the very wealthy pay less into the economy in ratio to what they have compared to the poor and middle class. The point of the 90% bracket is that the people in this bracket have most of their wealth in assets, not their bank accounts, so it's really pretty modest. When bullshit loopholes are filled in, it will no longer be necessary.

Taxing people isn't "punishing" them, it's contributing to a healthy and efficient society. And if the common people are content, the rich can enjoy their lives of luxury without judgment or social instability while having a vibrant economy they can get whatever they could possibly want from.

You can make ten times that much and not even be close to the proposed high-tax brackets. I'm not calling you stupid, but it's a misconception how incredibly wide American wealth disparity is. They make millionaires look like well-off fast food workers.

yes so set a standard for the schools based on the needs of the people actually running it. say new professor must make 100,000 with six classes of no less than 15 students per semester. thats about 555 a class. approximately 2000 for 12 credits a semester. thats reasonable i think. good teachers will get more students and thus more money. after the first 15 students the school can scrape off a portion say the extra $55

a college education is a service. it truly is. anyone out there saying that if you dont go to college you wont succeed is failing you. neither of my parents have a college degree. they make 200,000 a year. i have an associates degree in criminal justice. i wash dishes for 24000 a year. education isnt whats most important. its drive motivation and work ethic

To be honest a major reason for Americas debt is the unnecessarily huge army. The US army costs more than the other seven largest armies combined. By halving the army funds you will still have the worlds largest army (by far) and be able to use more on social welfare.

I didn't HATE Odd Thomas I just wish they didn't make it so predictable. And i get your points about the movie. They reached for it, but just fell short. I felt like they spent way too much time on the narrative and less time on expanding what the horns meant instead of just giving us like a brief 5 minutes explanation at the end.
