#78 - At least in Toronto we have good sports teams. Oh wait no we don't  [+] (6 replies) 07/20/2012 on Subway Maps +13

We are only 3.5 games out of the 2nd wild card spot, I think we can make it if we play well. The Jays will make it to the playoffs either this year or next year.

But to be honest, the rest of Toronto's teams do suck.

What the hell does that have to do with sports teams? i mean honestly, the greatest thing about Canada is that it has free health care, which is pretty damn good. But im not trying to sound stereotypical by saying igloos, but a lot of canada is inhabitable because of cold, ice, snow, and just forests and mountains. I know canada is a great place, but the climate is just a little harsh, and the money system is about 1US:1.55CANADA. Now that really adds up.

I live in Canada and your the first person on FJ to actually be respectful and have a realistic view of the country. Thanks for being a decent person. Oh and by the way, we like having inhabitable areas because it means we can keep wildlife alive.

The climate is only harsh in northern Canada. You should visit Toronto, it's about 25 degrees right now, rather warm if you ask me. And currently the exchange rate is about 1.02 CAD to 1 USD. Minimum wage is around $10 in Canada while in the USA it's around $7 if I'm not mistaken which means Canadians are making more money. I believe the unemployment rate of Canada is around 7%, the unemployment rate of the USA is around 8% if I'm not mistaken. All things considered that's not an extremely large difference.

Please tell me more about how the USA is so much better than Canada.

actually, because of the taxes (13% in CAN compared to 7.25% at it's highest in US), our minimum wage doesn't actually make a difference.

As of June, Canada's unemployment was at 7.2%, and America is at 8.2% in the same month.

No one said the US was better than Canada. If anything, he's trying to point out the bad parts about Canada so that an American doesn't move here and ruin his life.

And, in my honest opinion, I think all the inhabitable space is a great thing. It means we keep our Second Largest Country status without having to deal with a bunch of people. Also, like comment 121 said, it allows us to protect wildlife.
