God doesn't want to give us a good life. But he also doesn't want to give us a bad life. The only actions he performs on Earth are miracles. God is not just going to gift-wrap life for us and had it to us on a gold platter. We have to choose it for ourselves and let the consequences and rewards teach us what to do and what not to do.

So really, it's all about free will here on Earth. No God is going to force a priest to rape a kid. It's all his doing. It's all our doing here on Earth.
