The way it works. I like rest, but since I very rarely dream, sleep is essentially just a time sink for me. Plus, it normally takes me at least half an hour to forty minutes of tossing and turning to fall asleep. Plus, there's no guarantee that I'll actually feel rested, since it depends entirely on whether you're in deep or light sleep and not how long you sleep.
Honestly, I'd give my left foot to be able to either sleep properly or just forego it entirely.

I don't know if I showed you this already. I don't think so.

Heh, maybe. Canada's age of drinking varies by province, but I think that with regards to that sort of restriction, it's similar to Finland, but with much more gun control and far fewer guns.
Also, in Ontario, the age for getting a driver's licence went up to eighteen recently. It was a pretty stupid change.
Does Finland have mandatory military service?

Well, I'm not sure how the Finnish military is divided, but you know how the US has Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines? Canada just has Army, Navy, Air Force.
And that's not due to a organizational difference, either. It's just that the average Canadian soldier, regardless of his/her branch, receives training at about the same level as a US Marine - there's no need for a Canadian Marine branch, because every soldier is effectively a Marine.
I actually had a class in high school where the teacher's assistant was pursuing a career in the military as a sniper. He was in his twenties and had registered in a shooting competition. The final challenge was to hit the spade on an ace of spades from about five kilometres away - effectively the horizon.
Took him two and a half hours to line up the shot, and he made it.
I'm not normally the type to glorify the military in any fashion, but people make a lot of jokes about Canada's military, and few know how refined it actually is.
Aaaaaaanyway.
So, have you done your service already?

It's normally in the upper twenties, but it's been heating up recently to the point that the new highs are the the thirties.
And you really aren't jelly. All the summer heat is humid as fuck, and the city's a huge concrete slab, so it's literally like walking out into an oven.

I don't imagine it would be any less humid, honestly.
Speaking of motorcycling, you ever heard of the movie One Week? I don't imagine so. It was a Canadian movie released last year about this guy who gets diagnosed with cancer. He decides to take a motorcycle trip across Canada before doing the chemo, but as he gets farther and farther West, he sees more of the diversity and experience that Canada has, and his decision to return to take chemo becomes more and more elastic.
Plus, it was shot on location all across Canada. Might give you an idea of what a coast-to-coast road trip is like in a country larger than a Parcheesi board.

Well, there's definitely stuff that happens along the way, but it ties in to the scenery.
It's very good. Their budget was mainly for travel, so the shots and actors are all very tight and high quality. I'm not sure how'd you go about seeing it in Finland, but I'm sure the internet has some kind of solution, if you're interested.
Also, the character limit is now 8000 per comment. That's pretty sweet.

I don't think I've commented that much. I counted, and it's only 29 comments since your comment below, a fair number of which were just threads on the same content. Suppose it looks/looked like more, though. Honestly, I'm surprised that you noticed my comments on the front page at all - or were you just looking at my profile?
And yes, I'm sure you haven't done anythingbesides link me to more mediocre elctronic music in the slightest.

I . . . sorry. That was more harsh than I meant it to be. I just got back from failing a driver's test, so my emotions are a bit screwy.
PLease, don't let me make you feel as though you need to leave. I think I'm only meaning about half of what I'm saying right now; I really didn't mean to say anything that negative.

Aside from the whole "failing a road test" thing, I'm pretty well. My university experience thus far has been a grab-bag of emotions, but I think I'm finally starting to see how the routine works. I signed up for a few clubs during frosh week, and so far they've been pretty cool; I'm looking forward to the boxing club in particular.
Yourself?
Yourself?
I left the thread a while back, so finding a group of people similar to that but composed entirely of sarcastic, mostly intelligent people was wicked.
Yeah, those threads are something else. There was this one the other day that left a bad taste in my mouth, but most of them are pretty good.

Are you a hipster, Soarin?
Well, my crib is . . . livable, if minuscule. I have to share the washroom with another guy, which is unfortunate, but it's been pretty decent aside from that.
(I have to go now, since I have driving practice with my parents. I'll talk to you later.)

Oh, yeah. Sort of. We struck up a text message conversation about music that we had told the other to look into (She really liked the stuff I told her about. Thanks for introducing me to Poets of the Fall).
I'm going to tell her how I feel after I've listened to a suitable amount of it to have a legitimate conversation.

The school system seems to have the course application process set up in the most contrary way possible, but I'm starting to make headway.
The game is incredible. It's like a visual novel without the angst.
