| If I may. Your own analogy was against your argument. OP didn't put Northern Ireland, Wales, or Scotland in the list simply because to the rest of the world England is enough to signify the whole area. Its not geographically or ethnically correct, it is however how we all see it. You have to figure since the English are known the world over and England does hold the capital of the UK that the country "England" is sufficient for the entire UK. Given your analogy, whenever you see an Ohioan, New Yorker, or Floridian, you refer to them as such. If this is the case, you're just a tad bit insane on geography. Any normal person would say they are "American", as you said. So, using your own analogy, referring to someone who is Welsh, Irish, or Scottish as English is perfectly okay. While you are correct, OP should have said The UK instead of just England, we all understood what he was talking about without getting buttmad. I think its because you're just a pompous asshole who thinks just because this man, dilby, is probably American and has, as you put it, a shit education, you get to talk down to him like he is a child. Moron. By this logical stating Germany rather than Europe would be enough to signify the rest of the area then? Americans are the only people in the world I have heard refer to Great Britain as England and it is purely down to pig headed ignorance. Although I do not find being called English offensive many of the populace of states within the UK wouldn't hesitate to assault you if you said that to their face. Basically I see no reason to argue against the point that OP is being completely factually inaccurate in referring to the UK as England, I see no need from this when a simple Google search would inform him of this. Also I think it is perfectly acceptable to talk to you as a child since as I put it you probably have a shit education and are in fact clearly the kind of person who does not stand up for himself under any circumstances and believes what he is meant to, thus resulting in him watching television shows such as 'The X Factor' and living a meaningless life which results in him reaching his peak in a middle management job.
