We as a species should not be celebrating the deaths of our children.

It is to our strength that our elderly, our sick, and our disabled are able to contribute to the society as a whole. It is the physical representation of us conquering over nature. If the design of our own systems leads to the death of our brother, sisters and children, that it is death by our own hands. Every car accident, every suicide, every gun fired, every bomb dropped, is a symbol of the collective failure of humanity. We, as a species, have thrived off of intelligent cooperation; the only thing war has done for us is reallocate resources and "coerce" cooperation. I understand that wars can be righteous, but the existence of those who wish to oppress or slaughter is a blight upon our species as a whole.

It is natural selection when we fail to adapt to our environment and we are wiped from the gene pool, correct, I concede on that. However, if that environment is of our own creation, and not the creation of external factors, then it is more akin to intraspecies suicide; the failure to adapt is less the fault of our young, our sick, and our elderly, it is the fault of our species creating a dangerous environment for them.

We've progressed further, not because we've killed each other, but because we devised ways to cheat death itself. We didn't succeed for this long because we sat idly by and rejoiced as people were "weeded out", we succeeded because we watched out for each other and are inclined to mourn the deaths of our comrades. Wouldn't take too long for us to start dwindling in numbers and lose countless intelligent minds to simple mistakes; everyone's ignorant about something, and you never know when a helping hand or some mercy might save the life of someone brilliant in something else we need them to be brilliant about.

Celebrating death, and allowing our species to freely suffer from their mistakes, is counter productive to our evolution.
