My relationship history:

Whenever I remind her that her deadlines are coming up again, she started getting mad and freaking out again. If you have any advice, that'd be great.
My relationships also consist of "faggot" as a pet name. I don't know why, but I've come to take it as a term of endearment. I think that word may change use some day.

How long have you been dating? Next, you said there is a 45 minute distance, right? I advise you go to her house, and talk to her (and possibly her mom) about everything. Work everything out. It's obvious she's having trouble with the distance, so try and comfort her, and find a way to calm everything down. Talk to her mom and tell her what all happened. Try and reason with her, parents aren't all juts assholes, I would be worried and doing the same thing in that mom's situation (even though I'm a guy).

And finally, the next thing you should do is talk to your girlfriend about the cutting. No. That's bad. Once things like cutting start, it's hard to make them stop, and they just get worse. It can develop into some serious problems if it continues. Make sure she doesn't cut. Even if she isn't your girlfriend anymore.

Seems like a mentally unstable chick if she cuts herself. And she seems like a bro. By my experience, chick "bros" are not the best relationship material but they make great best friends.
