| You do realize that all food has been genetically modified at this point. The moment that humans take a wild plant and domesticate it, it has been changed and all of it's offspring has been changed. That what genetically modified food is. Seedless watermelons. Bigger, plumper tomatoes that don't die as easily. People who are against GMO's are always in areas where there is an abundance of food, because they don't see the impact that these embettered crops have on our worlds food supply. You're confusing genetic modification with selective breeding. A GMO is when you actually use science to mess with the genetics of the plant or animal embryo, selective breeding is what we do now, and that's fine. They are the same thing. modification of an organisms genes through human interference. The difference is that the methods used today are more exact and we actually know what we are doing instead of just crossbreeding and hoping for the best. The other difference is that science is hard to understand and scary. Selective breeding is so much easier to understand, so people just assume it's better than methods used today because "natural" food companies want tot scare people into buying shitty overpriced products You're right, we don't understand how exactly GMO works because it is complicated. I don't know if it's 100% safe or not, it probably is, but it shouldn't be this much of a fucking issue to just put a GMO label on stuffThere is literally no reason not to label something as GMO, and saying otherwise is what makes me suspicious that something fuckey is gonna get found out. We could stand to do a little more research though. Kinda irritates me when people like you assume that just because something is complicated science anyone who doesn't automatically line up for it is stupid. I don't understand when it became bad form to be weary of something you don't understand, it's not like i'm saying "kill it with fire" i'm saying "we don't know as much as we probably should, and it shouldn't be an issue to put a GMO label on it" TL;DR- it's not hard to put on a GMO label, and it shouldn't be an issue to do so. I feel we should do more research on the long term effects but i agree it's most likely reasonably safe to eat. What makes me suspicious is the resistance to labeling shit. | ||

| He literally left earth and sat on Mars, separated from all the problems of humanity. He only came back at the pleading of friends/lovers. So he is easily "above" the problems. It is a basic trend in psychology that the more intelligent you are, the more depressed you tend to be (Ignorance is bliss). He is as close to omniscient as a human being could hope to be and because of it he is indifferent to a point that it almost becomes disgust. The point was that while he is, you are not and the users of that meme/gif are not. We all live here and have a responsibility to our fellow human beings to try and fix some shit. The fact is the people posting that shit aren't so far above it they don't care anymore they're overwhelmed by the sheer fuckery of their fellow man. That's okay, i know it sucks but we owe it to ourselves as a species to fucking try. Also, knowledge doesn't equal depression, some of the smartest people actually do something to help society, like invent something. I think depression comes from either social out-casting or the ability to see only the problem and not the solution. TL;DR- Smart =/=depressed and you're not doctor Manhattan, you're just like the rest of us, nobody's above it. You keep saying that I am not above the problems, but I never mentioned that, at all, in my comment. Also I said that basic psychology shows there is a TREND that typically the smarter you are the more depressed you are. That does not equate to, "all smart people are depressed" like you are arguing against desite no one stating that. You counter my statement with "some of the smartest people actually do something to help society", that has nothing to do with being depressed. A really popular proverb essentially states that those who help the most have suffered the most because they know what it is like and empathize with those that suffer. A smart person can be depressed and help. Keanu Reeves has had a pretty shitty life and gives most of his money away to help others. To sum it up, I never said I was above anything and you brought that up out of no where, multiple times. Smart people tend to be depressed more often, no one said always. A smart person can be depressed and still help others, those are not mutually exclusive. Calm ur tits bro. The only thing i was saying is that the use of the meme kinda implies "i'm better than all those human problems" but by virtue of being human you're not. I assumed you felt that way in defense of the meme/gif. I know not all smart people are depressed and that, it just irritates me when a moderately inteligent person who'd depressed assumes they must be smart because they're depressed, or that being smart makes them depressed. | ||

ablakguy (07/30/2015) [-] I can see some of them are strange and I dont really doubt it, but the ones like this one are just horrible. Just because you hate your job doesnt mean you should get someone else fired for doing theirs. Im not trying to be a bitter person and not take a joke like I take dick, but this is as bad as the SU fandom ruining the rep of a hotel in Pennsylvania because it just so happened to have the same name from their cartoon. #50 -
anon (07/30/2015) [-] I hope the guy who wrote that gets fucking fired from his job, he probably got the uber driver fired from his, they fire drivers for pretty much any negative review I have no idea what SU is or what hotel they ruined so i can't comment on that, but this is obviously a joke. I guess it could be bad if people only ever looked at the stars, but i for one am not just content to go "Oh one star, it must be shitty" because i want to know why it was given one star. Maybe what someone else hates i'd find awesome... idk man. #17 -
twilightdusk (07/30/2015) [-] one of the recent episodes was titled "Keystone Motel" and featured your average, mediocre hotel with some magical space alien shenanigans, including the room becoming completely frozen and the pool evaporating, so some people thought they'd be funny and flood the reviews of the real motel with 1 star reviews with jokes and references to the episode.

| Agreed. Trump likes to make personal attacks on anyone he doesn't get along with. That kind of behavior is disastrous when it comes to foreign diplomacy. >trump likes to No. Everyone likes to. Every lawyer, politician, and reporter in the world. Every newspaper and media organisation, every newscaster and political commentator. Everyone who has the slightest stake in anything political is constantly looking for any weakness and opportunity to snipe. Trump is just following tradition Don't hate the player, hate the game. He's literally exclusively doing it for attention, He never outgrew that phase because he just got all the attention he always wanted like a spoiled single child. Not to mention he's got no political experience and probably doesn't understand that if we piss off china we're even more economically fucked than we are now. I feel like the fact that he's even running should prove that we live in a system entirely governed by money. This fat fuck can not only run but manages to get more attention (or at least i've heard about him more) than anybody except Ms.Clinton. I mean i know most of it is along the lines of "what is this motherfucker doing?" but still... he shouldn't even be stepping up to bat to begin with, having literally nothing backing him except a fortune. | ||

It's a relatively cheap option as far as FPS go, doesn't require a fantastic computer to get a decent 60fps, and has a matchmaking system so he can play ranked matches where skill matters if he'd like. On the other hand, it has an incredibly toxic community depending on where you live.

| He might say that, but even in games where you "turn it off" they just dampen the lock on effect and still help your aim slightly. A good example of this is COD, where no matter what you do there will always be a slight adjustment made by the console to help you aim. This is because controllers, by their very nature, have a harder time being precise. In most games this doesn't matter, but in FPS it counts. If you want to test what no aim assist feels like in FPS, take a FPS which isn't designed to support it and try playing it with a controller on PC. Him hating it doesn't matter, it's something which exists on consoles for a very good reason. I used to hate mouse and keyboard for FPS because I sucked dick at it. I was a guy who always "turned aim assist off" and hated it on console, but once I jumped to PC my aim in FPS was awful for a while. After a while though, you start pulling off shots which are literally impossible on console due to the fact that you just can't turn that quickly and maintain accuracy on a controller. This isn't to hate on consoles or controllers in general, hell, I prefer them for quite a few games,(fighters, DkS, Rocket League) but the fact of the matter is that FPS is by definition better to play on PC due to increased control over your aim. Cool. Honestly i don't like fps, but i'll pass the information along to my friend and see if maybe he'd move over to pc. It'd be interesting to see if he'd get good at it. Suggest CS:GO to him.
