In the 41st millenium Humanity is a vast interstellar Empire beset on all sides by enemies.
There are the Orcs: Huge green-skinned, hulking ape-like brutes that like nothing more than to smash, shoot and chop most thing they can get their hands on, everything else they loot. They're often just a pest unless enough of them get together under the same banner to swarm the planet.
There are the Tyranids: basically Xenomorphs that come in LOTS of different species that are custom-evolved to murder you and everything on your planet and every planet near it.
There are the Eldar: space elves. They live longer than us, are more advanced than us, have a strange interlinking portal network called the webway and their entire race has a knack for being psychic.
And then there's Chaos.
Chaos is the faction that answers to Four Gods symbolising, in no particular order: Bloody Battle, Inevitable Change, Rotting Pestilence, and Hedonistic Pleasure.
The faction of chaos is manned by daemons serving these gods and traitor humans that have decided to worship the chaos gods.
just to name a few.
Fighting them are-
The imperial Guard: Normal humans in the massive space-military. In comparison to pretty much everything they fight they are poorly armoured, poorly armed and die easily. It's not all bleak for them though, there are metric fucktons of them for one. They are masters of holding the line and have damn sweet tanks.
Then there's the Space Marines
These are humanity's finest, the 8ft tall, genetically enhanced, specially trained, fanatically loyal/religious supersoldiers clad in powered armour wielding the best weapons the Imperium has to offer.
And the games are good, dawn of war 1 you are in control of an army of space marines fighting for control of a planet getting swarmed by orks. It's a pretty good RTS game with a damn good story (even within the Warhammer universe)
Dawn of War 2 has Steve Blum voicing a badass one-eyed scout/sniper who's seen some shit.

It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die.
Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse.
To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

read in this order:
Heroes of the Space Marines
Legends of the Space Marines
Victories of the Space Marines
Treacheries of the Space Marines
If any of the chapters pop out at you, odds are there are books focusing on them, or at least on a similar chapter. As for games, if you are into RTS, Dawn of War is a great series. If you love shooters, Space Marine represents the series well enough. There is also a movie: Ultramarines
however the movie doesn't convey the usual scale well. The prelude to the novels sums things up rather well, but it will require another comment to fit.

Question, are the specs on your computer up to www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/warhammer-40000-space-marine/11152/?p=r

the book series i listed above is a bunch of short stories covering most all of the bases of what space marines are, some of the better series are Gaunts Ghosts (focusing on the imperial guard aka cannon fodder), and the Horus Heresy series (galactic civil war, space marine vs space marine).
I do play the tabletop game as well, and my army is black templars (thus the pictures).
I also recommend browsing the lexicanum, just to find what piques your interest: wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Warhammer_40,000
although it seems to be down this second, and the wiki isn't bad either:

All of this takes place in the grim, dark 41st mullenium where humankind had conquered the galaxy under the gargantuan Imperium of Man, but has since been under attack by the entirety of the myriad threats that the galaxy has to offer which they didn't conquer, subjugate or annihilate yet.
The red figure in the comic is one of the Space Marines of the Blood Angels chapter - Space Marines themselves being genetically engineered warrior monks who stand around nine feet tall, were picked out from a small sample of the population by genetic trials and then blood arenas which was pretty much child gladiatorial events, and them they were worked over by ancient genetic engineering which was developed sometime before the Great Crusade of the God-Emperor of Man (who nowadays is a blasted corpse writhing with unseen power from the Dark Age of Technology, but that's a different story.)
The being which appears to be a young robot girl is in fact a Necron, a race of short-lived hateful beings which made a pact with one of the insensate energies formed by the Big Bang and were betrayed, cursed to be soulless mindless automatons with a ingrained desire to exterminate all organic life to feed their C'Tan overlords. They do this by using necrodermis, an organic metal which resists all but the deadliest of weapons, or generally anything designed to work as anti-tank equipment.
The thing they both speak of are Tyranids, a swarm of alien beings from another galaxy which would appear to be the atypical mindless swarm, but instead are controlled by a vast Hive Mind which is indeed a deadly and cunning strategist. They have bio-weapons and biomorphs which allow such things as adamantine armor, bio-plasma vomit and other such monstrous masteries of genetic engineering.
Welcome to 40k.

Short version: Space marines = men in giant armor, supersoldiers of the human race.
Necrons (the girl(?)) are basically zombie death robots that kill shit.
Tyranids: Basically more terrifying, dangerous, and numerous version of the Zerg.
these are extremely simplified summaries. The fluff and lore of this universe is massive.

Mexico wasnt robbed, Robben actually had two penalties earned, did he make an over dramatic fall for Marquez hitting his foot, yeah but it was still a foul and the penalty he should have had before that wasnt called, Mexicans always love to complain but never look at the things they get away with when it comes to the sport

Hey man, it'll be ok. You remind me a ton of myself, I really loved a girl, but lost her for different reasons. I've always felt the same, raised to be a gentlemen, feel like I dont belong in the world anymore. I've had a great life and my parents have treated me fine, but when i lost that girl the world turned so dark.
Just know that it'll fade, your heart will heal. Open yourself up to people, it doesnt matter that you'll get hurt sometimes. You WILL find someone else, and they will make you happier. I promise. GL

It seems like you're facing difficulties now. But look, you're in med school. Please please please get through it! You're life will be much better once you become a doc (I am also currently trying to get into med school, that's already a HUGE success that you got there!). Give it 2 more years and your residency, and then you can focus on establishing good relationships. I really really think it will get better for you as long as you're patient, even though it's hellah hard to wait.
