Cheating? A foul is a foul. The penalty was technically fair. Yes, Robben shouldn't dive, especially not against such a great and fair team, but he hadn't a choice with that ref to get anything for the other fouls done to him. So he dove. But it was a foul, one way or another, and the player who fouled shouldn't have done so, in the penalty box, against Robben, who also had two uncalled fouls. Also, we were scared as fuck for penalties, with that goalkeeper, and few wanted another half hour to fight through, with that searing heat. Was it ethical in hindsight? No, it wasn't, but football isn't always fair game, especially when the stakes and dangers are this high. You may not have gone on, but no matter what, you've shown the world what Mexico is capable of. People will speak of you as they did of the Dutch in 1974. Didn't win, but damn they deserved it. And don't you think you are the only ones who believe it wasn't fair.

Remember, if it wasn't for FIFA's placement bullshit, you would've reached the semi-finals, I am certain. You are that good, but the placement fucked all this up. I mean, just consider those six again. They could've spread them out, but no, lets throw them all together, so only 2 of these brilliant six can go on for a respectable position. We're sorry. But remember: our teams are so closely matched, it might as well have been a coin toss to decide the winner, so close is the skill level of us both. Psychology was 10 times more important in deciding the winner than skill. We both had way too much skill, and it all cancelled out into frustration. Combined with the searing heat and terrible ref, things got messy and unethical. Once again, we're sorry. Robben said he's sorry. We're all sorry that instead of some inflated self-appointed diving "king" like Argentina, we had to push Mexico out, the best combination of skill, enthusiasm and sportsmanship we've seen in the world cup so far.

We're sorry.

Same high leg situation also happened later in first half in Mexican penalty area

But oh well, I can't blame every Mexican in here rustled by losing (especially like this, 2 goals in the last 5 minutes). I know the feeling and I would act just like you, seeking excuses, blaming the referee, etc.

Calm down. Look, the ref was shit, okay? But do you really think the Netherlands would have lost if we continued another half hour with that pressure? It was just easing the pain. I know, Mexico deserved a higher ranking, but winning against the Dutch simply isn't easy. For skill, we were placed too close to give the losing party proper placement. I mean, Mexico and Chile were both amazing players, but because they were so close to other amazing teams, they were out. I agree it was close. For the vast majority of the match, it looked like the Dutch were out, people are gonna see that in the players. Imagine what would have been if you were put against Greece or something. You would've made the quarter-finals, the semi at least. It was simply too crowded in our groups with good teams. Croatia and Australia both played amazing, but were out as well. That's a shitty move by Fifa to put these six top-tier teams all together in two opposing groups. It was positioning that put you out, FIFA put you out, not the Dutch, we played in the same conditions as Mexico did.

As for the actual game, it was full with false calls and non-calls. That ref needs to be fired. And in the end, it turned out in your disadvantage. Could as well have been in ours. The reason we won wasn't cheating, it was the fucked up ref and mere chance. Yes, Robben shouldn't have diven, but he wasn't called on his more serious fouls, and since this was an actual foul, it was karma. If he didn't fall, do you really think the ref would have called that foul like he didn't on the others? Same situation for Mexico. This match could have been so much better if we had that ref we had against Chile, that guy was awesome. And look, we're sorry, okay? I wished you the best of luck, but we want to win the Cup as well. Maybe things will be fairer in 4 years for you, you were awesome and deserve a higher ranking. Good luck.

Here's a joke to cheer you up. Remember that there will always be a second time.

You know man, fuck that, losing is not the problem, as a matter of fact, we all expected them to lose, what really infuriates us as a nation is that this one time, where the stars seem to be alligned, where a team that was know to be the underdog, a team that many argued that did not deserve to be there, a team that did not just rape Croatia in their own game, but ended up "defeating" Brazil, a team that was robbed in 2 of the 3 group matches (granted, the match against Brazil, where most of us expected the worst refereeing ever, turned out to be actually pretty fair), a team who cheated the odds with raw passion and good play.

Losing... as i said we expected it, we all knew the odds seemed bleak, but then we went ahead, we began winning and as a nation, we rejoiced, hoping that perhaps, maybe this would be the year...

The goal scored by Sneijder was a goal worth being applauded even by us, but we coped with it, saying "well we have the extra times" both teams were visibly tired, our men by throwing themselves into the defense, and yours by attacking non stop.

None of us know what would've happened in the extra times. Maybe our guys would've gone foward again like they did in the first time, and beaten your team.
Maybe your guys would've kept attacking, and finally broken our defense (which only conceded 2 goals in the whole cup).

What angers us as a nation, is that we feel robbed by a man that has made a reputation of diving for himself, a man who is known for pulling that kind of shit before, a man who tried to fool the ref not once, not twice, but three times, and he finally got away with it.

That is why we are angry, not because we were beaten as many of us expected to be, but because our dream was robbed, by a man who cheated.

It was a 50/50 ball. The Mexican player decided to use his head to attack a ball at stomach level and the Dutch player used he feet (go figure?). Honestly, the ref could've given Hector Herrera a yellow card for dangerous play just as easily.

He made it all look very dramatic indeed, but you can't deny there was a Mexican leg where there shouldn't be one. It was more of a stupid mistake that Robben took advantage off. As for that Mexican striker, Vlaar (right?) clearly kicked at the ball and not at the Mexican head, if the guy wants his head to be between the ball and a foot moving in on the ball that's his problem and not Vlaar's...
I guess we can agree the ref was shitty though, I still think he didn't give the penalty just for that last time Robben ended up on the floor but because it clearly wasn't the first time. What kind of a game would it be if defenders could just keep kicking him down without consequences?

Are you sure it was just "one" defender? Im pretty sure the ball is not anywhere near the defender's foot.

Disregard spanish text pls
