"Survival in today's world"

Please elaborate. I payed enough attention in public school to test well and have scholarships pay for half of my secondary education. The other half i've been willing to work for to pay off. Unless things are dramatically different where you are, the only difference is that I tried harder than you. Stop bitching if you couldn't understand more than "10%" of what your teachers told you.

You are the problem, not the "system" you complain about.

See, I tend to agree with what you say there about time wasted. They could certainly spend less time teaching us cursive writing, ethnocentric American expansionism, and a good deal of what the Texas school curriculum (for whatever fucking reason) gets to decide that the entire country learns. If you want to get your jimmies rustled, look into what all is forced upon otherwise bright minds because Texas determines the content of most of our school books.

The problem I have with the kind of things you say is that it's a restricted viewpoint with a strong tinge of paranoia. The school system and it's DJ 4DM1Nistration just suck in general, they aren't purposefully evil. I can't really believe an overarching scheme or conspiracy to make us "obedient." When you start spouting off stuff like that you sound more like someone who absorbs only the outrage they hear without putting any investigation into it. I like where your heart is with making our schools better, but blasting out against the established method doesn't really help anything without some kind of offered remedy.

Right.... that's why they have exploratory classes, extracurricular activities, and college prep courses in american high schools.

If you wan't to be part of a paranoid collective that you're so sure has disenfranchised you, why don't you go to North Korea or someplace where your complaints are valid?

Well if it was all OBEY classes it wouldn't be a very good cover up would it, I'm not saying every bit of education is useless I'm saying most of it is. It's just filled with needless monotony. Tell me how stupid would you have to be to take 12 years to learn anything, whether it be algebra or history or geography or physics, I mean if we all came out professional mathematicians/historians/physicists then alright 12 years well spent but we don't you come out remembering 10% if you even bothered to pay attention in the first place.
