"That's her own damn problem"
Well, I would want to help my significant other if she was tired from being out all day by going to pick something up for her, or even getting it on the way home.

Why would a guy be so resistant to doing such a small favor for his girlfriend though? Especially when her underwear, pants, and driver's seat are at risk? Not to mention the public humiliation of walking around with a blood stain on your butt.

In my opinion, if you're too embarrassed to buy condoms, you're not really mature enough for sex. Unless you're embarrassed because the cashier is a little old lady. You can feel their silent judgments. But IDGAF, because sex. lol
User avatar #103 - departed (03/18/2014) [-]
My point in the end was, if you're going to make your guy drive/walk to the store to buy you some pads/tampons just because your crotch is bleeding then that makes you an ass, and if he does it you don't deserve him, if you can go you should go.

1) I'm assuming you're a male for saying it's not "THAT much blood," because I think a female would know that for the first 2-3 days it is, indeed, a metric shit-ton of blood. Merely standing up opens the floodgates. 2) Periods are not always regular. They can sneak up on us after we've run out of supplies and haven't had time to go get more, so we get stuck at home. 3) If our partner's already at the store, what's the point in wasting more gas when he can pick it up there? It's not something a guy should be embarrassed about anyway, and he'll normally get extra affection for doing it.
User avatar #98 - departed (03/18/2014) [-]
1. Depending on flow. Sometimes my girlfriend has a light flow and is fine other times, as you've said floodgates.
2. "If you're completely out of tampons or pads, I understand, sure."
3. If you're there I can see it.
4. Fine, then girls have to buy the condoms. Fair is fair.

I agree.
However, she might have run out of tampons/pads and not had the foresight to buy more (irregular periods or bad memory). And toilet paper substitutes aren't as strong as we think. It is also bulky and shifts around a lot.
But yeah. If you can't go down to the shops during your period wearing a tampon/pad you may need to see a doctor. That shit ain't normal.

Well, it is a movie, and a very pulp fiction style space opera movie at that. Protracted firefights from behind cover just aren't in the style for the kind of fiction Star Wars originally fell under. Nowadays, yeah, there's more of an emphasis on slightly more realistic and grittier warfare in Star Wars media, but armor is also more effective. Although, hell, even in Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader's armor deflected a blow from Luke's lightsaber. Granted, it still hurt, but it didn't maim or kill him.

they don't die in one hit. hell in the clone wars, you can see multiple clones through out the show take multiple hits to the armor and they'll still keep going.

The armor significantly reduced damage to the wearer from a blaster bolt, but it could be completely penetrated by a more powerful cannon blast. The most obvious function of the armor was protection against weapons fire and battlefield hazards. The armor, and the body glove worn beneath, were designed to disperse the energy of a blaster bolt and insulate the wearer, lessening injury. Although standard armor lacked the durability to make the wearer immune to cannon fire, it could partially deflect or disperse energy from low, medium, and high-energy blaster bolts; though the wearer may be incapacitated, survival would allow the trooper to receive advanced medical treatment that may return him to service. It also deflected stun beams, and served as excellent protection against explosions and shrapnel, thereby drastically reducing the effective casualty radius of fragmentation weapons used against troops wearing such armor.
User avatar #153 - departed (03/18/2014) [-]
I never watched the Clone Wars, so I apologize and they look pretty dead when they get hit in the movies, but as you said they're probably incapacitated. Thanks for the lore or w.e.
User avatar #139 - schneidend (03/17/2014) [-]
Environmental hazards, shrapnel, non-lightsaber melee weapons, and glancing blows from blasters that would maim or cripple you for life if you didn't have the armor. Wouldn't you rather your shoulder guard melted instead of your ACTUAL SHOULDER?
User avatar #140 - departed (03/17/2014) [-]
Yeah I suppose, but then the person you're fighting is a terrible shot, or just very unlucky.
