 That's a good point, thank you for mentioning that. My point is about claiming equality between Lex Luthor and Batman as opponents to Superman. They're not exactly equal. Batman has more moral scruples than Lex. Lex is more ruthless and more willing to fight dirty. Batman is physically superior to Lex, more skilled, a better detective, and more knowledgeable about Superman. Batman will accept help from allies, but he doesn't want to accidently kill anyone, he puts himself at risk and fights directly with opponents. Lex Luthor is willing to kill and is completely willing to mislead pawns into dying for him. So if Batman decided to go the Lex Luthor route, he wouldn't really be the kind of Batman we've grown to know. That said, yeah Batman does cheat, not quite like Lex, but he does use guile, tricks, and so forth. #76 -
demonsora (05/14/2015) [-] though it can be said, if Lex really wanted to, he could of quiet easily killed Superman so many times its ridiculous, the main downfall for Lex is the fact that he has a GIANT ego, and has to make a point, a show and not just get rid of his enemy but completely destroy the image of his enemy, so really, the ONLY reason Lex loses most of the time when he puts Superman on the tropes (which is shocking a LOT) is because he stops himself from doing it until he has a big spectacle to make of it, thats all Yeah like many super villain antagonists, Lex often seems like he's going to win then gloats or monologues giving the hero a chance to fight him again. It's a part of some stories to make the climax that much more exciting and to add characterization to the antagonist. Lex definitely has an ego and ambition. It's a strength when it drives him to excel, but a weakness in many other ways. Lex could have done all the good and great things he believes he's capable of if he really wanted to, but it was always about proving he was right and superior to Superman.  Batman got kicked out of Justice League(who he was a founder of) because he had all plans how to neutralize members of the League. After kicking him out, later, Superman gives him his kryptonite bullet back, because and said Batman might be the only one who would stop them all from going rouge. #54 -
demonsora (05/14/2015) [-] again it really depends on the universe, as i said, Batman ALWAYS plans for the other Leaguer's, sometimes its found out, some times its never mentioned, but thats just what Batman does, he plans as for the Bullet it changes a lot on that part, sometimes he just keeps a shard on him in a lead lined pouch to weaken the man of steel, but he is also known to have a pistol in the batcave that yes, is loaded with a kryptonite bullet | ||
