Yeah well imagine that but instead of doing missions they simply just destroy everything there is to destroy so you're stuck on a blank canvas having never enjoyed the game.

Being a Paladin in a Chaotic Evil party is the worst. It literally becomes a game of looking over your shoulder every goddamn action and constantly throwing perception checks to make sure no one's doing anything slippery.
Had a DM that straight up had us trapped with an intelligent Dragolich that was going to have everyone be his questing adventurers (compatible with everyone but the Pally and me, who was a Neutral Good sorceror, and consequently turn the Paladin into a Death Knight (which would've had him fighting the Dragolich's control at every turn).
We're only third levels by this point, so any hope of beating this thing as a party was pretty minimal, let alone 1v1 which ended up happening with the Paladin, who ended up getting killed.

Dude, that new universe shit is so stupid. Araki said that he restarted the whole thing in a new universe because he didn't feel like writing a story with futuristic elements, so his natural inclination would be to destroy everything and start from scratch.

To me, it seems intellectually lazy. Araki didn't want to leave his comfort zone, artistically speaking, so he came up with a bullshit reason for the universe to be reset just so that he could dodge an imaginary bullet. I fail to see how the new universe lets him be more creative. To me, it allows him to be less creative. Besides, the time period shouldn't matter that much in JoJo. It never factored in that heavily in the past. As long as Araki could keep the story interesting, when it takes place doesn't matter. Hell, he could have made a flashback part to George, or just made another present day story, or just have been unspecific about the time period. He didn't have to destroy everything we as fans had come to love just to force a hard reset because he was too afraid to step outside his comfort zone, especially when he didn't have to.

I guess thats your opinion, but for me what made it perfect for myself was Emporio at the end of Stone Ocean meeting Irene just that was able to tie in the two universes so that the legacy of what the previous universe had still lived on. it was awesome, and now I look forwards to the adventures of our new Joestars
