I was kinda disappointed that there wasn't an actual movie made of this concept as it seemed cool and this is basically a concept album taken to the next level but then removing all of the actual inter-connectivity of the songs so it only makes sense as a narrative with the visuals.

hey. Can you give me any tips for KSP? I try to play it on normal difficulty but the contracts that require me to fly to certain locations where I need to fly beneath a certain altitude for supervision **** me up because I either can't reach the location or am too high.
User avatar #5 to #4 - flybager ONLINE (02/11/2015) [-]
I haven't played KSP yet since that contracts or tech tree stuff came out, bro.

All I recall is you'd need to have a goal in your mind, design your little ship for that goal (how you'd move around at that spot) & then pitch out trough what phases you'd have to go in order to get there.

I made a little thruster-powered lunar car and basically added **** for space itself & then added bigger **** to get off my own planet.

That's the basic stuff of kerbal, though, you probably know that already if you've played longert than 5 hours.
As I told you, my biggest achievement is 'impact on moon'. I tried to go lunar landing but I always arrive at the moon with like 100m/s.

Problem is: To get my rocket strong enough for the journey I need the lvl 2 launchpad or else your ship will be too heavy. The upgrade cost abit more than 50000 and with the 3 out of 4 standard contracts (reach 5000m height, fly a rocket, reach space) you already get motr than 60000 and 20 or so science meaning that you have to can unlock one of the three start tech tree roots ("Basic rocketscience" gives you more liquid fuel tanks and one liquid engine and a bigger solid fuel rocket that is so weak that its only strong enough for lift after 70000 m, "survivabillity" gives you landing struts, a weak but fuel efficient liquid fuel engine that is meant for landing and radial parachutes that don't have to be place on the ends of a rocket like the start ones and the middle root brings you the radial decoupler (its like with the parachute) and support frames that withstand 80m/s crash velocity) so its pretty hard to finish the contracts at the beginning.

All I recall on just reaching high up^is that weighting less is more important than having more fuel / bigger engines.

Also, that small but wide engine is for going to other planets without having your velocity kick you in outer space. I wouldn't mes around with that one if you're going for reaching height.
I believe the easiest way to reach like 100km is just 3 of those yellow blackish liquid engines. (I think, anyhow)

Also I recall solid fuel engines being crap IMO.
I only used those for ships I made jokingly.
(especially the place-anywhere solid fuel thruster. that one's great for designing alloha snackbar rockets or vehicles with 'missiles')
User avatar #8 to #7 - deathtobreakfast (02/11/2015) [-]
Well the small solid fuel thingies dont seem to be this crap anymore. Two phases with one basic solid fuel engine each is enough to reach space.
User avatar #9 to #8 - flybager ONLINE (02/11/2015) [-]
Yeah the one medium sized one that's like the liquid one but 2/3th its size, that's one I used frequently as phase 1.
