That's his character, an unlikeable asshole. You don't have to quit playing for such a minor detail anyway, it's a really good strategy game.

If you think Sengoku Rance takes long to beat, try beating Rance Quest without installing Magnum. I think I had almost 300-350 hours of gameplay and my party (the 15 units I was actually using, that is. I had like 100 party members) was averaging level 40, while you need about 150+ for late-game dungeons.
