A plastic knife equals not a movie prop... Also you may be inserting those into the wrong hole if they break that often. (Get more tender steak, or a real knife??)
#39 - datdudemm (10/15/2013) [-]
fair enough, iv never actually seen a movie prop so i just figured they were flimsy and light to keep cost down. my standards are VERY LOW for cutlery btw

Daniel Radcliffe managed to go through 80 different wands in the entirety of the Harry Potter movie series, in other words he broke or lost a lot of wands.

but they think christians aren't right in the first place, so why would they care that the pope says they can go to heaven? and that the pope pointed out something that they already know? they knew they were good people without the pope telling them that, and why would they care about being granted access to something they believe doesnt exist?
again im not judging either, its just confusing to me

I'm an Atheist and I don't care about the negative publicity the church gets. And even though I'm an atheist, I am happy to see that the church is adopting a more accepting stance even if I don't necessarily agree with them on everything.
User avatar #14 - oikake (09/22/2013) [-]
Personally I see it as Atheists being interested in the views of a guy who is a representation of morality for Millions of people. Because if he advocates a viewpoint which causes harm to others, then he should be seen as an enemy of human decency.

The fact the new pope is so far a decent person (relatively speaking) is of course a good thing, but we are waiting for the "but..." moment
#18 - datdudemm (09/22/2013) [-]

some atheists were fixated on his comments specifically about atheists though, his not condemning them like the last pope. but your explanation explains the bulk of it, so thank you!

That is exactly what i always think. Not to be offensive, but why get pissed off when Christians say atheists will go to Hell? If i were one I'd be like okay w/e, but many get offended that some Christians think they will go to an evil place in which to them is not existent. It can even be seen as hypocritical.

true, but some atheists seem to be holding this guy up for not being as hardcore catholic as the last pope. if they reject the church, why would they care what the church says?
not all atheists are like this obviously, but enough are that its noticeable
