Except Japanese vampires are called Jiangsh originally taken from Chinese folklorei. Which are essentially rotted corpses who jump around with their arms stuck out eating people.

Yeah, After Story didn't do it for me either. They drop all the secondary characters, things slow to a snail's pace, you have like 2 episodes of him just learning to fix power lines, and the mellow drama is so played up. "I HAVE TO FIX THAT POWER LINE! *crying*" "It's ok, I've got this. Run to Nagisa. She needs you."

If you are at episode 18 of Clannad After Story, you should watch it, that is one of the very sad episodes. If you have watched it and did not feel anything, then i guess that anime is just not for you.

User avatar #3 - jacklane (06/12/2014) [-]
The root of 8 plus the root of two is the same as the root of 8 plus 2. Which is the same as the root of 10. Since the power is 2 (applied to everything in the radicand) and the index is 2, this reduces to the power of 1 and the radical sign is disappears. What tracy did wrong was to multiply 2 and 8 when there was very clearly a plus sign there.
#4 - datargumme (06/12/2014) [-]
You said The root of 8 plus the root of two is the same as the root of 8 plus 2
Which is bullshit.
a^(1/2)+b^(1/2)≠(a+b)^(1/2)
Example assuming a and b is equal to 4
4^(1/2)+4^(1/2)=4
(4+4)^(1/2)=2*2^(1/2)=2,828
4≠2,828
As you can see the statement that you made first is wrong.

And again you make the assumption that (a^(1/2)+b^(1/2))^2=a+b, which is false.
Example assuming a and b is equal to 2.
(2^(1/2)+2^(1/2))^2=8
2+2=4
8≠4

Trazy did not multiply 8 with 2.
The statement tracy made was that if you square an irrational number, you allways get a rational number, which is false
Example with the irrational number e, e≈2,71828128....
e^2≈7,39056...
e^2 is an irrational number, and that is where tracy was wrong, and not in the result of the calculation.

I like to imagine it in like the saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get." I like to use Schrodinger's cat in a similar fashion. "All possible outcomes exist simultaneously, you won't find the true answer until you actually act, ie open the box."

If you break the law, you give up some of your rights. The concept of "hard time" seems to be a thing of the past. Some live better lives than the homeless. So why should a homeless person not commit a crime? Now the issue with this is that some laws are considered asinine. This is where the whole, "punishment must fit the crime."

Our society seems to think that by taking away our inmates "basic human rights" which they define as tv, internet, social interaction, it is inhumane. Here's a person who molested a child. That person should be locked up in a small hole and given only what is necessary to survive. Personally, I think if someone molested a child, willingly admits to it, should be dragged out back.
User avatar #164 - datargumme (06/04/2014) [-]
It seems that the reason we disagree is that you appear to bellieve that we humans untimately have a free will and that punishment is acceptable since the person commited the crime is untimately at fault, and not something else.
I on the other hand do not think that we humans are at fault for what we do ourself. A criminal is most likely a criminal because of a bad childhood, bad enviorment or a mental problem, eg sociopathy. And i bellive that the best way to fix a criminal, is to fix him and not destroy his life.
Even people who molest children, i bellieve should get help instead of punishment.
It is only when people are way to dangerous and beyond fixing that i even advocate life inprisonment.
But you instead want to kill a mentally sick person who was driven to molest children instead of fixing the poor bastard? Molesting children is not a simple life choice that a person might make, the only way such a mindset can appear in a persons mind is if they got fucked up mentally at some point.

I'd be fine locking these people up in solitary confinement for the rest of their lives, living off of only bread and water, but that is seen as inhumane.. Yet some of these sick fucks slowly torture their victims until death. So we throw them in a cell with cable tv, allow them to play games, and interact with people?
User avatar #128 - datargumme (06/04/2014) [-]
I would be totally fine with locking them up with merely bread and water and have them live out a boring life. Giving life sentenced criminals tv, video games and soical interraction, i do consider to be to much to give them.
Though i do support giving normal criminals such things.

But how would Dahmer, Bundy, Gacy, Hansen, Yates, and people like them become martyrs..? I can understand your point people like Hitler and Bin Laden, not so much serial killers.
User avatar #123 - datargumme (06/04/2014) [-]
there are people who admire serial killers a lot. and if just one of them happen to consider a serial killer a martyr after execution, they might hurt someone. But i am quite sure that such things happen rarely.
To avoid it you can just toss serial killers in jail for life, no more people gets hurt that way.
