| I know a person who does do that, but I have very little faith in people as a whole. I would have to see some kind of business statistic to believe that statement. For me, it's that I want to consume culture but I'm too poor to do so legitimately. I live with and care for my parents but I pay for my own entertainments outside of ones that they use too, like internet and Sky TV. I get £50/month courtesy from those same parents while I'm still in education, but that's mostly because a benefit I should be getting from the government Carer's Allowance won't be given to me because I'm still in full-time education bc the system's fucked all the way up. Let me tell you, £50 a month does not go very far at all. Cinema tickets here are at least £10 each on the cheapest night even with a student discount. CDs can be anywhere from £3 to £12 depending on the genre and popularity of the artist. The cheapest sub to Netflix is £5.99 a month. The cheapest I could find a gym was £10 a month and that was a mediocre gym at that. Netflix and a gym is automatically £16, that's more than a quarter of my money gone. Add in saving £10 a month, that's over half gone. and £14 a month for social stuff is not very much at all. That's barely a meal out at lunch unless we go to McDonalds every damn time. My friends are fine with that. I'm not tbh. I used to pay for Netflix. I still would if I could find a part-time job. But I know a streaming site that has all of the Netflix exclusive shows and more on there, so I use that instead. I'll buy content from artists (music, drama, art) that I really truly love. Marina is one such artist. I don't illegally access her music, but I did download some songs from Electra Heart before I bought the album - because I couldn't find the album anywhere. When I found it, I bought it. I buy Trudi Canavan's books in paperback because that's the cheapest way I can get them. I'd buy Mira Grant's Newsflesh trilogy if I could find it in any bookstore. I prefer hard copy for books. I can't find it, so I make use of a less than legit ebook copy that I have. Though I did just find it on Amazon. Never really thought to check. I am not a smart froot. I can't speak for everyone, I know that. But a lot of the people I know who illegally access content do so because they cannot afford to but they want to support and consume all the same. They give support in other ways, mostly by talking about what they're watching/reading/listening to. People talking about a show online gives it so much more power, and can give it a way bigger audience. Amazon picked up Ripper Street because so many people were talking about it, especially after BBC opted to axe it. | ||

| I think it's arguable. You can find plenty of jewish people from that part of the world approving of the mass bombings of innocent 'Islamic infidels' in the supposed defense of their holy land. | Ever heard of Buddhism in Myanmar? They have been killing and deporting Christians and Muslims until recently. Eh, you could make arguments that Hinduism and Buddhism at least contribute to the "oppressing" part with untouchables, but how much of that is religion and how much of that is culture is anyone's guess. #29 -
anon (12/04/2015) [-] sounds like fun, lets import them for cultural enrichment, come on guys stop being ignorant racist, and be progressive, also ban guns to prove honest intentions;) A nation run by greedy, cruel people could use literally any religion to justify and codify their theocratic powerbase. Culture and history are the enemy of progress in Middle Eastern countries, not a religion adhered to by hundreds of millions of people who don't even live in that region. Israel deals with Paris style attacks on a daily basis. What are you referring too? #23 -
MuahahaOfLore (12/04/2015) [-] ??? show me what your reading? Israel drops leaflets warning people before every bomb. Then they drop a Knock bomb that's just loud. Then they bomb. They also pinpoint target locations that they are being fired upon from. They get fired upon from schools and hospitals, of course they will fire back Have you seen anything about the stabbings in the news? DAILY FUCKING STABBINGS. who is doing the stabbing? WOMEN AND CHILDREN!!! Google this shit. Google this Shit. Really. Really. Why don't you look up the actual statistics of the Israeli-Palestien conflict. Israel, including both military and civilian, has twenty dead and one hundred and ninty two injured in the year 2015 thus far. Palestine has suffered 96 dead and over three thousand wounded. And you want to say Palestine is pulling more shit? How about you google this shit and look at the hard numbers instead of sensationalist media. #27 -
MuahahaOfLore (12/04/2015) [-] Numbers?? If someone attacked the USA it would end the same. Attack someone stronger than you and you will die. Did you know citizens were told not to leave when they were warned of incoming missiles???? Did you know these citizens let Hamas use their homes as bases??? They dont have a right to proportionality of deaths. That's what happens. #44 -
anon (12/04/2015) [-] That's the exact kind of opinion ISIS wants people to form of normal Muslims. Getting people killed that are in a media limbo. Yeah, I'm sure Falah Hamdi Zamel Abumaria was totally hiding Hamas soldiers in his house when he was murdered by Israeli forces trying to render medical aid to his son who was shot by stray fire. They raided the house after a fucking pot fell out of their window. I'm sure that was the Hamas, though. I'm sure Muhammad Husam Barakat was hiding Hamas soldiers on his bus when two israeli civilians assaulted him with knives on his route. Moussa Othman must have been transporting Hamas belligerents when Israeli settlers began pelting his taxi with rocks. I'm sure all those homes that Israel keeps demolishing with people still inside were totally warned months in advance, despite no evidence that their building permits aren't invalid and no actual warnings on record. Loay Bakri must be a Hamas sympathizer. Praise God for the six youths that assaulted him with steel rebar and shattered his hand. There are hundreds of other stories just like these if you'd bother to actually look. Yeah, the Palestines pull their fair share of shit. But do not pretend for a second that the level of force and the innocent casualties are remotely justified due to the small handful of rockets hitting empty fields. In what goddamn world would it be ok for a country to level entire apartment blocks with missiles because Hamas 'might' be hiding there? Destroying hundreds of homes and shelters while israel citizens sit on hilltops and fucking cheer. They've wiped out UN relief shelters. Look, I very much understand where you're coming from. Two wrongs don't make a right. But at the same time, Israel's gotta co-exist with a group of people that routinely and regularly carry out terrorist attacks on its citizens. Look, after the Paris attacks, that same week France was launching air raids against ISIS. When the twin towers fell, we started an entire war, and said it was justified. Israel hasn't done that, they've responded only to specific threats. Did they do so with more force then necessary? I'm certain they did, at least at times. Were some of those threats imaginary, or mistaken? Probably. But I have a hard time imagining, were anyone else put in their position, that they would do any better. In fact, I'd argue that things would probably be much worse, just looking at the comments Europeans make about mostly peaceful legal Muslim immigrants and refugees. That doesn't mean we shouldn't advocate for Israel doing an even better job. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to stop outbursts of racial violence against Palestinians from Israelis. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to get the Israeli government to hold its citizens accountable when crimes do happen. But making Israel out as some sort of monster is just wrong. One final thing: you mentioned rockets hitting fields. If someone fired a gun at you, but missed, would you consider it justified to attack him? If someone fired a gun at me and missed, I wouldn't reply by firing a missile at the occupied gas station I guessed he might be in. The two aren't comparable. It's called the escalation of force, and Israel really likes to escalate. That answer minor riots with live ammunition instead of dispersal tactics. This all flies away from the original point. Islam is not the only religiously run nation that uses is religion as justification for crap. Israel exists because of Judaism and the belief that Jerusalem is the promised land. This entire situation wouldn't exist if it weren't for that. #60 -
anon (12/04/2015) [-] What a retarded comparison is that? What should Israel do than in your opinion? Send troops to clear them out? - oh no , that would seem as if that would be an invasion force , which would be pinnend down by both the locals and Hamas. Just 'ignor' the attacks , let your people get slaughtert left right and centre? I am sure a coward like you would appreciat that. Say in the oh so peacefull western style , that what hamas is doing is baddy baddy bubu and then procced to do jack shit and ignor all the problems? Common genius , tell us what Isral should do , exept for the utterly retarded notion of leaving. Besides that , the jews got that region what is now called Israel only to fuck with the Palistians , who were allies with the nazis back in WWII , but they couldn't do anything directly because they needed the reccources like oil from the region. Well, that analogy kinda breaks down when the other guy also fired a missile. As for the original point, so, what, it's Judaism's fault for existing before Islam did? Couldn't we just as equally say it's Islam's fault for claiming the same Holy Lands as Judaism? Palestine and the Islamic community didn't get the UN to make a ridiculously one sided partition of the country after WWII. The Jewish people hadn't been in that land for nearly two thousand years. I'd be pretty pissed if my homeland was suddenly ripped in half by people who claimed ancestry there hundreds of years ago. It could have just as easily been shared. Would there still be tensions? Of course, but nothing on the level of what it is today. #57 -
thepizzadevourer (12/04/2015) [-] Look, we could argue over that all day long. In my book, it seems like they both had roughly equal claim to the land. Palestinians had right of possession. The Israelis has prior claim, as well as the fact that large numbers of them had been displaced during WWII. In light of the Holocaust, the British Empire (which was currently in possession of Palestine) asked the UN to consider what should be done. The Arabs boycotted the meetings held by the UN, and as a result, only Jewish propositions were heard. The UN decided on the partitioning plan pictured. The Israelis were fine with this, the Arabs understandably weren't. It's generally agreed that the Arabs were the instigators in the violence: sniper attacks on civilian homes and car bombs in city squares happened in several cities. As a result, a civil war broke out, and the Israelis won. I mean, it's all well and good to say co-existence would have been a better path, but I think it's doubtful to say the least that it would have worked. Either way, it's a moot point, reality is what we have now, and we gotta deal with it. Israel won the war, claimed the right to inhabit the lands by prior claim, and have essentially been under attack for that ever since. I think it's arguable. You can find plenty of jewish people from that part of the world approving of the mass bombings of innocent 'Islamic infidels' in the supposed defense of their holy land. The origin of the conflict is due to the jews believing they're the rightful inheritors of the kingdom. #104 -

Well obviously Asami was just the psychologically stronger person. She didn't want help with her emotions because she didn't need help with them.
Korra was raised with the idea that she was supposed to be the guardian/savior/balancer/whatever of the world. Someone important and powerful, a role model for everyone to look up to. That she was invincible.
Then she gets totally ****** and realizes she's ******* nothing and her job can easily be done by others.
That kind of **** will easily put a huge ******* hole in your mental and emotional well-being. She had a god damn existential crisis along with ******* PTSD.
I kind of agree that Asami didn't get enough focus, but people rag on Korra for too much and just wave away all her very real (in the fictional universe) issues because she's supposed to be the avatar. That in itself was one of the problems she had to constantly deal with.
I'd also just like to add that Korra wasn't crippled because of a broken back, it was mercury poisoning which can actually cause paralysis.

The holy priestliness, heaven/hell-like realms, and dimensional beings kind of **** is a bit out of place. It conflicts with the already established lore of spirits and all that. It's simple and doesn't have that much depth, sure, but it is what it is and it worked.
Also the "one wish" thing just kind of makes it sound like a Zelda story.. With Unalaq being Ganondorf..
I mean, I don't know if you're looking for criticism from me here but.. yeah, that's my opinion on that.
Like I said, I'm not that big a fan of fanfiction.

darthblam (07/19/2015) [-] I'm sorry but I just can't take any of it seriously given the show's original setting and plot.
It all just sounds too grim.
I hate to shut you down like an ass, but I really don't have any interest anymore.
I'm sure there are others that would like or appreciate it, but it just ain't my thing.
Maybe if it were its own completely stand alone story and had nothing to do with the Avatar universe it would have some merit to me but.. yeah.

But.. they did that in the show.. fairly well, I thought..
Maybe not "the entire universe" part, but at least the world. Their world and the spirit world Which really is as big the stakes need to get. Turning it into "the universe" doesn't really up the seriousness of it that much at all if the only part of that universe you know is your world. . In book 2 at least..
Book 4 was just Earth Hitler... it was cool, but not demi-god potentially destroying humanity seriousness like with Unalaq.
But anyway.. it's been a nice chat, but it's 2AM here and I'm tired as **** after watching Antman earlier. Great movie, you'll love it if you've liked any of the other previous Marvel movies.

Use the lasso tool and draw around the thing you want.
You'd probably prefer the polygonal lasso tool, which uses straight lines.
Just go around the whole thing with it, then switch to the cursor tool that can click and move things, then Ctrl+c, then Ctrl+v on a new page that should be the appropriate size.
Make sure the background is empty, which is usually checkered to show that it is. Then save it as a .png and you can open it to drop on whatever you want.

While I made it easier on myself by pretty much halving the frame rate, it still takes a while and a fair amount of patience.
This was also the first time I've done something like this.
