in my opinion, if you're going to read the book first, just don't watch the movie at all


possibly with the exception of lotr, simply because those were so well made.

whenever you watch the movie after you read the book, you will be greatly dissapointed in the movie and it will look like shit


i fucking loved the LoTR movies, then i read the book and i fucking loved that too
but then i watched the movies again after having read the book, and i found myself going "that's not what happened, that's not how he looked, where'd that guy go? why did they leave that out?" all the time, it made my movie experience severely more shitty than it was.
movie first, book second=enjoy both greatly
book first, movie second=enjoy book greatly, majorly annoyed and dissapointed in movie

and lotr is one of the more accuracte and good depictions, the Eragon movie for example? or atla? the movies might have been ok by themselves, but they were complete and utter shit when having read the books, when i watched the eragon movie, i just wanted to strangle the director for having shat so hard with his explosive diarrhea on the story that i loved so much.
