Yes, it is very much a problem.
www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/stefonknee-wolschtt-transgender-father-leaves-family-in-toronto-to-start-new-life-as-a-six-year-old-a6769051.html

This is what it does currently. It will only get worse if you keep pretending it isn't a problem.

That is that guy's, and his family's, problem, not ours. Obviously that man has more problems than gender identity crisis, and he probably would've left his family regardless. It must be nice having so few problems that you have to go find some on the internet.

Should we ignore every problem that is not directly ours? The problems like that guy has do not just effect the individual, they have much further reaching repercussions. Do you truly think that others will not look to that, and while most should say "That is insanity", others will say "That is empowering" and think to do the same themselves if the opportunity ever arises?

There will always be a few nutjobs, and it's a waste of time to make a bigger issue than it is especially when the repercussion is so insignificant. People leave their families everyday for all sorts of reasons, so just because someone does it over a gender misidentification shouldn't be too outlandish when more people are getting divorced for all sorts of reasons. The most damage that situation will cause is the equivalent of how much damage a regular divorce does, which isn't a whole lot. Listen internet warrior, stop making big issues out of the small stuff, and don't act like people are giving up because they don't want to argue over nothing. People pick their battles, and ones like this just aren't worth it.

The same damage as a regular divorce? Because in a regular divorce, 7 children no longer talk to their father because he's off pretending to be a 6 year old child that's been adopted by two dumb cunts. Okay.

Ever heard the saying "the straw that broke the camel's back"? These things add up and if you simply pick and choose things you dislike rather than standing by a set of principles, they will keep adding up until you are beyond fucked. Every one of these 'small things' that you let go are another victory that pushes these people even further.

That guy clearly has a much more bigger issue than Gender Dysphoria. Wanting to be a six year old girl even though he is a forty year old man, and even leaving his entire family because of it goes above and beyond simple transgenderism.

I guarantee you if transgenders never existed, that guy would still do what he's doing. There are always going to be fucked up people in society, and if they can give themselves an excuse to be fucked up they will use that excuse. He's just hitching a ride on the whole transgender thing as a means to rationalize his psychosis and make himself feel like what he's doing is perfectly fine.

It's completely unfair to use some fucked up guy who's only using the word 'transgender' to make himself feel righteous in his actions, to represent a group of people who are actually suffering from Gender Dysphoria.

That is not what the argument here is. This chain started as a response to someone saying "Whatever a person says they are, fine. I just don't fucking care anymore.". That line of thinking leads to this. It leads to people who think that article I just linked is acceptable. Eventually things like that will become commonplace and just considered an acceptable eccentricity if you give up caring about it, just like transgenderism has and being gay has. I'll repeat it again, the only way these people win is if there is nobody left to stand up against them anymore. We are past the point of expecting others to do it for you because of a lack of caring.

And a not on the gay and transgenderism examples I used. I am not saying that those two things are bad. I am saying at one point in history they were considered traits that made you an abomination, whereas now they are considered things you must accept or you are an -ism of one kind or another. History will repeat itself here.

Yep I see what you're saying now. My bad. I totally agree aswell.

But it's pretty hard to stop this from happening. Like i said before, fucked up people are going to use whatever they can as an excuse to make themselves feel normal. We can't do anything about it without hurting/punishing another group of people who didn't do anything wrong. Even if we do, the fucked up people are probably still going to do what they want to do.

It's unavoidable, and we'd be fighting a losing battle. I agree with the first chain post. There's literally nothing anyone can do at this point but ignore it or accept it.

That sounds very reminiscent of "ignore the problem and it will go away". The problem hasn't gone away. It does effect people because it becomes more widespread and appeals more to these people who have delusions who otherwise might have mentally stabilized before it was too late.
