Financial problems aside, I'm just not happy with my career path or campus. It's just that I have a short amount of time before my parents die off and I'll end up being a full time student and have a full time job. I know I can't balance those. Living in NYC is too fuckin expensive.
I'm hoping things will look up after I join a fraternity.

Don't know what to say to that, I'm out of my league here. As a canadian we dont have frats and I've always known what I wanted to be even if people gave me shit for it so after highschool my choice was relatively easy.
But if youre not happy with your career path, than research other options, theres a bunch of opportunities out there and who knows what you might find yourself interested in

It's also a responsibility thing.
The U.S. can be very dangerous especially deep in the cities but not too much unlike most similar western countries. Having the weapon is a human right respected (sort of) in the U.S. and is a sign of responsibility for personal defense and perhaps the defense of other innocents.

Knives are tools, not weapons. The guns on the other hand, mostly depends on your job (Late night worker/ work in a city)
