"Hipster" is more attitude than anything else. It's when someone thinks they're somehow more important about liking old or obscure things, and openly flaunt it to everyone. Simply having a record player, and getting new records for it occasionally isn't really hipster.

The funny thing about me posting this content is.. I use a record player all the time, I enjoy music that a lot of people don't even know(Though I don't really care about it, I just like unpopular music, such as: Swans, Sleep, Father John Misty, Barn Owl etc.) I wear flannel shirts, and I go listen to unknown bands at small bars ... Because I like most of the music that i can watch there and I like a bar way more than clubs. I hope some of you think "So he isn't dissing vinyl, but is he ever the Sherlock Holmes for posting this, and we all do think he's super sexy" and that no one thinks "HE'S A DAMN DIRTY HIPSTER!"
