The claws are usually too small and not reliable enough to bother with. As far as crab goes I usually just eat it if it's something like stuffed crab or sushi.

Yep. Not a huge fan of cracking my own crab shells though. It's too much work for the small slivers of meat you get. Crayfish is a lot easier to break apart and you get more meat for your effort.
