that's when it was openly stated to be giving supplies. the united states didn't want a part of the war, but still supplied britain with weapons. german subs even shot down some of the smuggling ships, even a civilian ship thinking it was a smuggler ship.

Okay, I'll admit maybe I rushed in there quickly and made a bunch of assumptions. I apologize. Now to restart off, I will say that yes, parents who don't listen to their children do still care about them. Well, most of them do. I'm sure there are the shitty ones who just don't care, but those are not all the parents who don't listen. Some parents just have an iron fist and want the kid to do what they want because they are older and birthed them. I know for a bunch of my friends, they weren't allowed to talk back and ask their parents "Why?" when they told him/her to do something. It's all a respect thing. "I'm an elder so listen to me and do what I say." There is nothing really wrong with that, it's just some kids feel that they should be able to explain. It's really nobodys place to tell the parents that is wrong because they can have their own style of parenting and whatnot. I think kids just need to grow up and stop feeling entitled to so much. They need to listen to their parents. Hell, if they act as if they are neglected by them... what the hell? The parent wouldn't give them the time of day if they didn't care. They wouldn't tell them what to do if they didn't care. If they didn't care, they would leave them alone and let them go out and stay gone 24/7 with no boundaries. Those are the parents who truly don't give a shit. Again I'm sorry for before. I just get really worked up when people take shit like that for granted. And yes I may have friends, but I wouldn't put them on the same level as if I had a mom/dad to call.

I appreciate that you have switched to a more pleasant tone.
I do understand the reasoning behind your statement, or at least i think so.
"I'm an elder so listen to me and do what I say." - Well, yeah, older people have experience. It doesn't always matter why. If you know the action and result, but not the reason, you can still predict. I hope i'm following what you thought here.
I am not an emo, for one reason alone. I have managed to make my parents understand that they don't understand me and that i don't understand them fully.
Before, my dad would tell me to do a lot of things. I was perfectly okay with that.
but when i told him that it was difficult and that i couldn't do it without help or instruction, even if it was just something as simple as changing a light bulb, he would yell at me, and call me useless. Occationally i hid my bad job. I didn't want my dad to yell at me. And when things turned really bad, he would hit me, once breaking my nose, or lock me in my room and force me to study.
About a year ago, i convinced my parents to ignore a large part of my life. I loved this. It meant that i could sort out my things and realize that they forced me to do these things for my own good. It just worked a lot better when i knew that it was for my own good.
To me, my parents' ignorance is a blessing.

Just my two cents: I'd rather have fucking parents who told me what i should do instead of not having parents at all. The problem with emos is they take their damn parents for granted, as do most of the retarded youth these days. Hell, I had a fucked up youth and I'm finally in college now and living for myself. I would have given anything to have a stable upbringing cause now I'm truly all alone. No one to call. No one to ask if I'm okay. Nothing. Nobody. So shut the fuck up and sit back and realize what you have really been given. Like collectro said, people will be telling you how to act all your life. Grow a pair and get over them. Just cause your parents don't give you the chance to describe your ever-growing plate of feelings doesn't mean they don't care.
#123 - crilleballe (11/17/2012) [-]
Can you not read?
I never said it was bad that your parents told you what to do.
Of course you'd rather have commanding parents, than no parents at all. As would i.
Parents that tell you to do something and not even bothering explaining to you why or how, do not care. They don't care to tell you what to do. They just hammer on you for not doing it. I also never said that all parents are like this, but for some reason it's like everyone thinks i'm talking about their parents specifically.
You have no one to call? No one to talk to? I find it almost impossibly unlucky that you do not have A SINGLE friend. Actually so unlucky that i would call your statement major bullshit. And if you don't have any friends it's your own fucking fault.
Emos do not take their parents for granted. They know that they need them until they are old enough to support them self. The problem is that they don't understand their parents. And the parents don't understand, or doesn't care, that the child doesn't understand them. They try to communicate, but fail. And when things don't work out, it's a lot easier for some, AND ONLY SOME, to blame the young ones.
And yes, when you get a job, your boss is going to tell you what to do, but if you don't understand it, your boss is either going to have to explain it, or not hire you in the first place, due to underqualification.
> 'Just cause your parents don't give you the chance to describe your ever-growing plate of feelings doesn't mean they don't care.'
So if they just ignore me when i wanna try to talk to them, they still care?
And that .gif... was it seriously needed?

im not telling anyone how to cut their hair, im saying the whole emo shit is retarded. yes, sure, I'd be kind of mad I didn't get something from ym parents, but now that im older, I understand you cant go out and buy everything, so I understand them. I dont go on FB, on my 500 - 1000$ laptop and say my parents are a bunch of cunts that do nothing for me. I lived under their fucking roof for like 17 years. and ofcourse its a different thing if you just like the clothing style, dont get me wrong
#45 - crilleballe (11/17/2012) [-]
So you can buy your way to being a nice person?
Emos are not emos because they didn't get nice birthday presents.
If you have a 1000$ laptop, that your parents gave you, can they do whatever they want and still be good parents?
In short: You can't buy love. If you try, and act like an idiot thinking that 'Hey, i bought my child something cool, now i can do what i want and he/she can't be mad, because, you know, i bought them something cool' then you are likely to turn your children into emos.
The whole thing about cutting yourself tho; yeah that is pretty retarded.
I know it's supposed to help them focus on something other than the 'mental pain', but there's a lot of better ways to do that.

Nazi is a proper noun and therefor is always capitalized. Also, just so that you're aware, you didn't have a subject in the sentence "Works both ways." Even if you intended to use an implied "it" as your subject, I would have corrected you for the unclear pronoun reference.

And no, dipshit, it doesn't work both ways.
