It's so much harder to use those units though when they hold no meaning, which is why we should go metric or at least find a happy medium like canada.

is... is this a horror game?
If you think battlefield is an arcade game, do not even look in the direction of call of duty if you want to stay sane.
I don't think anyone with any logic has ever argued that the CoD games aren't super arcade.
Battlefield is also arcade, just very different. The only FPS games I'd really call a simulator would be stuff like Arma or Red Orchestra / Rising Storm
battlefield 1 and all other battlefields I have played are most certainly arcade shooters. There may be realistic elements in the game, such as rounds not being hitscan and also having drop into consideration, but it is still very much an arcade shooter. Even if you ignore all the silly weapons and pickups they have in the game, it still bases combat around infinite sprinting way beyond what humans are capable of with no soldier momentum (a/d strafing, instantly going from a sprint to a stop and vice versa), unrealistic handling of weapons (being able to shoulder fire some of those weapons while standing, especially from a long sprint accurately? lol) unrealistic damage and velocity on projectiles, and general flow of combat compared to how it actually happens( soldiers running off on their own instead of sticking as units). There are simulator based shooters, and battlefield may have realistic mechanics in some areas which many enjoy for that, it is still very much an arcade shooter in almost every other way
BF1 is a giant insult to the idea of conceptualizing WW1.
HUGE racial inaccuracies, everyone is using an automatic and only scouts get bolt actions, tanks drive like modern day cars, zeppelins in warfare, plane combat everywhere, tactics of run 'n gun instead of volley fire or overwhelming numbers.
There is a lot more. BF1 is an arcade game.
Again, do not even let the idea of call of duty into your mind, lest you be driven mad.
Arma 3 is a simulator, the US military uses it.
BF1 is an abortion.
Im pretty sure we dont use arma 3. We have a shooting simulator but its made by the army and considers way more variables than would ever be used in a game. You also use real rifles with a sensor thing installed not a controller.
Finland has a simulation too made by the army but it's built up from arma so it's possible that US also has done this? If you or someone else knows better please let me know.
I don't think it's exactly from arma but from another version of it called VBS or something like that, I know my friends used to play VBS 2 demo, the actual game was very expensive. It's a series that isn't directed towards the public market but they are able to buy it if they really want to., might be thinking of that.

We really only use the thing to save ammo or if the weathers too bad and it was pretty pricey to make it. It is nice having a civilian run it and getting a bit of time away from all the screaming and fuck fuck games that a range usually entails. Never thought Id not have fun shooting but they found a way somehow.
Arma 3 is pretty good couple of steps away from "Realism" as well.
Because aside from glitches, modded shit and player behavior this video didn't really show what's unrealistic about it.
Battlefield 1 never claims to be a simulation either. It's a game about WW1.
If you shout simulation or nothing, you're a huge faggot.
"People take the word simulator a little too seriously. "
Just making sure you know the tripe you like is a popcorn flick.
Please forgive me for having fun, do you remember that word, fun?
