- Ty for your tolerance <3 I feel like the left mock…
Well i have made jokes about it its never been at someones expens l. Id make fun of myself with it but id never pick on someone for it
To clarify id say dont asume my gender and thats the extent of it
just to make my friends laugh or just in good fun
Can't argue that's funny under certain circumstances
be considerare with it though yeah?
Well again i dont use it on any one but my freind and iv only ever said dont asume my gender and not in public either id like to think iv done a good job about not steping on peoples toes
- This has been my stance for a while also! Just these past few …
- Aye, a lot of the queer community raises an eyebrow about four…
First, I think I should elaborate on what I mean by fakes, as it's never a cool thing to just dismiss a category of people like that without properly explaining myself.
When I talk about the fakes and those in it for attention, I'm talking about the people who have created their own omega-level unique gender identity and adopted it as their sole defining personality trait, dragging it around like some deformed, misshapen creature chained to a dead weight and forced to hurl its burden about as its only form of locomotion. I'm talking about the 'DIE CIS SCUM oops sorry guise it was just a phase' hate bloggers doing everything in their power to demean folk who are comfortable with who they are. I'm talking about the Sean Kings and Rachel Dolezals of the world
I'm aware it's slightly different with race vs religion but they're the exact sort of person
who see a minority identity and latch onto it so that they can use it as both a shield and a weapon. Personally, I've had the unfortunate experience of running into them in real life, both at work and in public, but I've run into way more of the queer folk that are just great people.
What I'm NOT talking about is the hordes of confused kids on tumblr who get caught up in the excitement of being let off the leash for the first time and craft their own Sonic OC of a gender identity. Time and life experience is all I feel they need to figure themselves out.
I 50,000% support the notion that people shouldn't be beating the shit out of gays
Australians, but my argument is that people are currently flailing pretty hard at what is currently the dominant voice representing the 'spectrum of genders' crowd to our NEET, internet-dwelling perspective. Unfortunately, that happens to be the obnoxiously loud trigender pyrofoxes trying to insist we modify our movies, video games and other media.
I'm not down for ANY sort of indoctrination of kids into an extreme belief system, and I think it's a near-universally accepted notion that fuck the WBC and everything it stands for. I agree that kids are bound to ape their parents and that it's perfectly normal and healthy to do so, within normal logical physical boundaries.
A place where I personally feel an issue can arise is that there can be parents that are entirely well-meaning who just jump onboard because they think they're helping the kid.
Kids that young can near-convince themselves of the
coming from the guy who as a young kid convinced himself and insisted that he was actually a cat for a while
, and having a well-meaning adult say 'Well, I guess they
be a girl if they insist' and begin raising them as such.
As far as actually engaging goes, it's simply the only thing to do- How can I ever learn more or be proven wrong if I immediately dismiss other people's viewpoints? More so, how can I ever make mine seem valid to them if I'm unwilling to sit down and take a minute to explain them? It's impossible to learn, teach or convince if you won't sit down and expose yourself to other perspectives.
Far left pretenders need to sit down and shut up, far right queerphobes need to sit down and shut up, the vast moderate centre needs to stand up and talk. Well-meaning parents, bless them for trying, need to listen.
That's a lot of social inertia to combat but maybe if more conversations like this happen we can get it done.
I too was a cat child.
It's still my backup plan if agender doesn't work out.
Amen to that, broseph. Amen.
Thinking a bit more, there's one point you made I'd disagree with- I don't think that the extremes need to sit down and shut up as much as I think they need to learn to listen.
There's no cure for intolerance of any kind like immersion and exploration of it, and I honestly think that if folks could just drop their grudges and just talk to each other we could probably work things out, at least to where folk stop burning shit down.
Yes, that's definitely more useful than silence! You're absolutely right.
The grudges ruin the conversation. They create that idea of winning the argument rather than resolving it, so nobody will give an inch of ground because that would be LOSING.
Exactly- They aren't looking to fix things anymore, they're trying to get X policies in because that's a 'win' for them.
