NO!! All you need to do is get it out of the path of the Earth. I.e: if it is moving to the right, and Earth is 1million Km to the right, you can put rockets below the asteroid and push it upward. If you try to go against the movement it already has, you will fail. What you need to do is just add another component to that movement. Thus, the only concern is the asteroid's mass.
User avatar #90 - bookyle (05/12/2013) [-]
actually, speed is also a factor, but not in the way he said. If the engine does not provide enough power to do the work in the time before the impact, it's useless

Haha windows 8 is really nice once you get used to it. I have a windows 8 phone as well, and the integration is impressive to me. And the macbook was a gift for college, so I can't complain. But, alas, this is the internet, and personal opinions go about as far as a North Korean missile.

Yeah, it's called boot camp. Pretty much lets you use whatever OS you feel like downloading illegally and installing. It's kind of a pain in the ass to do, but it's nice to have for video games and stuff, and I use Mac OSX for music, school, and nothing else because lolmacssuckiwouldknowcuziwenttoanapplestoreonce

I'm aware of bootcamp. I'm confused because you have (in my opinion) the worst operating system of our generation on the most ridiculed (however unfairly) laptop of our generation.

It just felt really off. Maybe it's just because I'd been watching some truly stellar series at the time but it all seemed rather thrown together, and there was a period where there was a new girl every episode, when in reality those characters were introduced in the novels reasonably far apart. Also, Sachi's death meant NOTHING when she was introduced and then killed off that quickly.

It was sad for me, but then I hadn't read the manga, so I haven't witnessed the drawn out version. Is it super painful to read?

I think most of it is honestly just a force of habit. People think "what computer will I get to (insert creative profession's task here)? Macs are used a lot, might as well." Especially if you're a graphic artist or whatever and don't know the first about computers.
#158 - hylebus (04/08/2013) [-]
Final Cut Pro is industry standard in movie production and is Mac OS X exclusively.

As a composer, I can tell you that a lot of music programs simply work smoother on Macs. I can't tell my own arse from superman's hairstyle when it comes to computers, so I don't know why that is. Maybe they're just optimized for the Apple OS. But I get far better MIDI sound, some decent formatting options, and some nuances which I cannot get on Windows.

Or maybe I'm just using it wrong. As I said, I don't know the first thing about computers.

depend on what you use it to, I prefer linux because it is faster, less walk arounds like in windows to do simple tasks, more control ect

but if you only use ot for entertainment or just to run applications and not to much need of the OS, windows and mac is better choice
