I'm sure he'll try to find other funding for it, he's mainly trying to cut down the deficit. It didn't help much when Obama was giving millions to countries as an "apology" for something America did to them a long time ago. Bush left us with a horrible deficit, but bush didn't create the entire deficit. It's the deficit that has been built up since we started trading and doing business overseas. It has been proven that of all the presidents in history, Obama has added to the deficit the most by any single president. He added approximately 5.23 trillion dollars to the deficit in the past four years, which makes our national debt 15.86 trillion. Could be more now, that information was acquired in June.
User avatar #187 - creosote (10/11/2012) [-]
That "apology" which probably strengthened Americas ties to those countries...

Anywho, the debt: seattletimes.com/html/nationworld/2017397975_deficitassess02.html

That article is disgustingly, obama dick-suckingly inaccurate. They even imply with the way they worded it that they were trying to be kind to him.

1) The things that Obama doesn't get rid of are just as much his responsibility as the ones he does. That's COMPLETELY IGNORED, and it's total bullshit.

2) Their numbers are MAGICALLY missing Afghanistan

3) This is based on an 8 year projection, instead of looking at his actual term. So... fantasy...

4) Again, they are assuming that he passes ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE in a second term, and that all things go according to plan. How quaint.

That's not even to address the fact that there are different health-care projections, or the longer-term effects of the healthcare bill. Now, I don't believe the 4.7 tril is a fair number either, but this is, as I stated, simply absurd dick-sucking.

Also, to be clear - my reaction picture is for the link/seattle times, not yourself. I respect people's opinions.
#212 - creosote (10/11/2012) [-]
I think it's safe to say I dropped the ball in this case, but yeah, I just find it hard to believe that he would have formed more debt than any other president, and I'm not even a fan of him, but I just can't stand that stance because people never have any solid proof of it. Everything is biased though, so I guess we'll never know, but do you really think Romney will do a better job? I mean, he's already offended the Brits, Russians, Chinese and who knows who else and he didn't even have a policy (that anyone knew of) until Ryan came on board...
User avatar #214 - theaceofthespade (10/12/2012) [-]
Well, first of all... dude... AMAZING GIF FOR THAT. A million points for gryffindor.

I honestly don't know at this point. I don't agree with the keynesian economic model, so that right there is a huge strike against Obama. I also find him very smug, and honestly agree with him on next-to-nothing.
Unfortunately, I don't know if I agree with Romney on a whole lot more. They both seem to want bigger and bigger government. I would vote for Ron Paul in a second if he were running.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_legislation_sponsored_by_Ron_Paul
I will probably vote for Garry Johnson - not because I think he will win, but because the more momentum a third party can get in this election means more visibility in future elections. Plus, at this point, I don't know that I see much of anything good coming from either candidate.
#215 - creosote (10/12/2012) [-]
Yeah, one of the few instances that a gif has perfectly fit what I was trying to say.

You just summed up my stance perfectly. I'm a huge fan of Ron Paul, even though it was obvious that he wouldn't make it, but if Rand ever runs, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat (seeing as I'm sure Ron will be too old to run again). And I'll definitely vote for Garry Johnson, because Independent parties REALLY need more support and recognition. I mean, although he was before my time, I deeply regret that Ralph Nader was never elected President. I'm pretty positive that he would have been a far greater President than Bush ever was, or than Al Gore could have been.
<----- Someone I wouldn't mind seeing as a Vice President.
User avatar #216 - creosote (10/12/2012) [-]
Also, I'm a huge supporter of gay marriage, so that alone makes it impossible for me to vote for Romney. gay marriage shouldn't even be a government issue. Interfering in our everyday personal lives is NOT what the government is for.

He wants to get rid of it because Obama started going through China to get funding for it, instead of Americans donating and supporting it like the way it used to be. We're getting into more debt with China, as if we're not in deep shit with them anyway. He wouldn't have a problem with it if Obama didn't do that. I'd hate to see it go too, mainly because my daughter loves the channel, but why the fuck are we supporting it through China? Obama is putting us even further into debt. It's fucking ridiculous.
#168 - creosote (10/11/2012) [-]
Than find money elsewhere, fuck, just have the government sponsor it or something. I mean, it's not exactly hard to start getting funding for it elsewhere, I mean, I'm sure that if people knew that it was about to close down than they would make donations. Also: having China fund PBS isn't going to do much. What's a million dollars here and there when we're spending billions elsewhere.
Also, it must be noted that the unemployment rate has finally fallen under 8%
www.bizjournals.com/orlando/news/2012/10/05/us-unemployment-rate-drops-be low-8.html (you can find this information pretty easily, there are many stories on it) and really, is it more ridiculous than the debt that Bush left us with? (I'm not a Democrat by the way)
