im cool man, i still go running and play basketball. i skate sometimes and i go snowboarding on occasion, im hoping to start MMA and football soon and i ride my bike whenever i need to go to a friends house. im keeping up with this shit and im not going to smoke forever. its something i enjoy that im choosing to indulge in for a while. thanks to modern day medicine and expensive advertising campaigns at the taxpayers expense im now aware of pretty much every danger there is with smoking but its my choice to smoke.

Reading your comments, I can definitely see what you mean. I was talking about when it's crowded somewhere, though.
I mean, if I know I'm not bothering anyone I don't give two shits about where I light one up, but when, for example, I'm at a busy train station or something I make sure I stand in the area meant for smokers.
#239 - craigdavid (11/11/2013) [-]
in britain we dont have those, its just straight up banned on train platforms. very few places in britain accommodate for smokers these days, its viewed as a waste of money

thanks man, see this attitude wouldnt be present if it werent for the governments making smokers a scapegoat for poor NHS staistics. the tax on cigarettes alone in the UK more than covers the cost to the NHS of smokers, so we're more than paying our dues.

You know what, I will apologize on the blowing smoke in faces, i hadn't gotten through most of the conversations at that point, however, I still find your anger towards designated smoking areas terrible. those areas are set to have the least possible impact on others, to keep as many people happy as possible.
#68 - craigdavid (11/10/2013) [-]
refer to my other post about my college, that pretty much explains why im getting angry, if its an enclosed shelter i dont have a problem with it. i actually appreciate that to be honest but its when they just give you a random open space and say 'smoke here, not under the bike shelter over there or under the overhang over there. no not even id its raining', i can understand why theyd say that if it was decent weather but if it isnt who in their right mind is going to be in those places in bad enough conditions to warrant smoking in there anyway. thats the problem i have with it because thats what i associate with the phrase 'designated smoking area'

In my school, people would just stand in the entrance when it was raining because that was the only outdoor place with a roof. They would normally stand there when it wasn't raining as well because they couldn't be arsed to walk 25 meters to the side where they wouldn't bother anyone with their disgusting habit.

An asthmatic girl had to go to the hospital because she was in a class that had windows above the entrance to the school.
Every fucking day for 3 years of time I had to walk through this thick cloud of smoke to enter my own fucking school. The stairwells stank of smoke, the classrooms with windows near the entrance were impossible to have classes in because they stank of smoke, and if you asked the smoker to please move away from the entrance you'd get a "stop fucking bitching at me for doing it it's my lungs you little shit"

If you know it's going to rain and you know you're going to need to smoke that day bring a fucking umbrella, and move the fuck away from our roofs.

It's not just your lungs, I had friends that couldn't go home from school until about half an hour after the entire building was empty because when all the people went home they just stopped right in the fucking entrance to have a smoke before they left.

It's not your lungs I give two shits about, it's mine and my friends'.

No, it is not the school's job to present smokers with shelters because they can't be arsed to be decent human beings and stand somewhere else than in the entrance while sucking on their death sticks.
Our school didn't have a school yard and shared the building with lots of other companies as well, there was no place to build a shelter. That does not give you sick fucks the permission to stink up the stairwells, classrooms, entrance hall etc.
#244 - craigdavid (11/13/2013) [-]
lastly. why the fuck did the stairwells stink. what kinda pricks did you go to school with and why the fuck did you rschool not have a schoolyard. you live in fuckign detroit or something yeezus
#243 - craigdavid (11/13/2013) [-]
also the fuck on about sick fucks. close the fucking window and dont cry about it. if theres a person with asthma why is the window open in the first place, and why is smoking allowed within a certain distance of the building. thats a failing of your school, if someone came outside and said yeah your smokes causing a girl to SUFFOCATE BY GOING THROUGH THE WINDOW i MIGHT be inclined to move. but you are essentially being a massive fsacist cunt by saying 'if you smoke, yourea bad person'.

fuck you sair, and have a pleasant day.

You haven't contributed much beside the fact that you feel you are entitled to smoke anywhere once outside a fucking building, and that if anyone has a problem with you blowing toxins in their face they could fucking shove it. Sorry, but you poisoning your own body does not make you right in any way about where you smoke.
#58 - craigdavid (11/10/2013) [-]
in no fucking way do i blow smoke in other peoples' faces. if yo cared to read any of the million or so fucking paragraphs ive written in the last half an hor to describe my views on smoking you would understand that i do not think that is the case, i just dont appreciate cunts like you thinking they have any more of a right than me to dictate where i smoke. if a fucking arseload of people came up to me and started bitching what do you think id do, stop?

hell to the fucking no id talk to each and every fucker, puffing away on my 'death stick' the whole time

i am saying that i do not contribute as much polluition to another person's body by smoking as cars do by driving down the road. yano with all the SMOKE and CARBON MONOXIDE pouring out of the exhausts ALL THE TIME as opposed to every 5 seconds. im also saying the damage done by exposure to second hand smoke is negligible unless it occurs over a long period of time, i.e. in a pub where the dor is closed, lots of people are smoking and there is no fresh air.

and then im saying that the law already accounts for long time exposure to second hand smoke, and as such has put into a place a law which says that you are not allowed to smoke in any public building wahtsoever

well you done brought up nazi's. I see this conversation isn't going anywhere. Because once someone pulls that card there's really no good argument to be had afterwards. I can only say this to your problem of carrying around butts. If you won't carry it around with you, what makes it ok to throw it on the ground? Also, have you thought about carrying something around to put your spent cigs in? Possibly a bottle of some sort? People do that where I live for their dip rather than spitting on the ground because nobody wants to walk around on dip spit.
#54 - craigdavid (11/10/2013) [-]
i was using nazis to exaggerate my point i dont actually think smokers are being treated as such. what i mean is that smoekrs are being made social pariahs over a choice we have made, even when we attempt to make discretion for others. and i take your point about carrying butts around in a bottle, it seems fair but i am literally too lazy to go to that much effort unless im in a place where it would be properly disrespectful to toss it, such as a graveyard or church grounds or something like that

just because x amount of people do something, does not mean it's an ok thing to do. smoking in itself is an antisocial behavior. littering is another. just because you have street cleaners, shouldn't mean it's ok for you to throw your shit on the ground. it'd be like me going around and every few minutes tossing gum wrappers everywhere with chewed up gum in them. that's just not cool man.
#46 - craigdavid (11/10/2013) [-]
hell, spitting isnt cool. neithers swearing but i get the choice of whether or not to do them. sure, in some situations ill catch shit for doing it which is why in those situations i wont do it. i dont throw actual rubbish on the floor i carry that to a bin. its a different matter when the rubbish will stain almost anything it touches and make it stink for ages which means that its even more unpleasant for other peoplefor longer

and yes i know i stink of smoke already but i wear deoderant and i always have a jacket on when i go to smoke so that most of the smell sticks to that and not me.

i do my best to be considerate to others when smoking so i dont see why im somehow kicking up a shitstorm by claiming that smokers shouldnt be treated like jews in nazi germany
