While I agree the "Ancient Race" plot has been used a fuck-ton of times, Halo was one of the first and you can't blame the game's SEQUELS for continuing the plot. Halo isn't a bad game, not great, but not bad.

Sorry for opinions but, Chief is a bland brainless character, his voice actor is awful and if they don't do something to "OPEN UP TO HIS HUMANITY" in Halo 5 then his character is pretty much dead to me.

Halo was the first console game that I played. I don't know of another game that came before Halo to have that plot. I mean, Half-Life had the whole "Alien invasion" plot before Halo, and Doom and Duke Nukem had that plot even before Half-Life, but I thought that Halo invented the "Ancient advanced species that others religiously follow" plot.

This has been the plot-line of every Sci-Fi game since Late 1990, it's an old recycled plot and to say Halo has a rich lore is silly, all can be learned in a day.
