Natural selection is the gradual, non-random process by which biological traits become either more or less common in a population as a function of differential reproduction of their bearers.

Natural selection is about which animals are BETTER ADAPTED and MORE LIKELY TO REPRODUCE. THIS IS KINDERGARTEN SCIENCE!

Animals still have to survive for genetic drift to occur, it's more likely to happen with animals better adapted to nature therefor it's still dependant on natural selection.

Also genetic drift removes weak alleles meaning the animal becomes better suited for nature, therefor it still dependent on natural selection.

Yes, it's a fact that i have good reason why they can't work together, because i have a logical reason which you're ignoring. I said an intelligent designer that can make a universe wouldn't possible create such a bad universe, which is a valid reason. You not only didn't answer this reason but you pretend it didn't exist.

Now that doesn't mean it's a FACT that creation and evolution can't work together, just that it's a FACT that there's valid reason to think why it's illogical.

I didn't say there is only one gear, i'm saying that there is only one method evolution works, this one method uses all these seperate mechanisms to make evolution drive as one mechanism.
User avatar #219 - coolcalx (05/15/2013) [-]
"How the hell do you even think genetic drift can take place if the animal fucking dies?"
I never even said that. the fuck are you talking about? an organism doesn't DIE if it doesn't have any form of selection mutation.

"Animals still have to survive for genetic drift to occur, it's more likely to happen with animals better adapted to nature therefor it's still dependant on natural selection."
lol no. that's not how natural selection works.

I'm beginning to think that you haven't studied evolution. just as an example, genetic drift acts independently from natural selection.

here is something you can read about

so no, you are wrong.

It still talks about the concept of god, theology still hasn't answered me why this god concept would make a shitty universe.

You're taking me out of context, i said i have good reason to think why they can't work together which i didn't say it's a fact that they can't work together.

None of these mechanisms could work without eachother therefor they together make one mechanism for evolution. Just like how you need different parts of a computer for it to work. Natural selection is the one that moves it forward because it forces animals to adapt and survive.
User avatar #203 - coolcalx (05/15/2013) [-]
that's not out of context. you said that that it doesn't change the "FACT" that there is good reason they can't work together. you of course did not provide any evidence for this, but you did state that it was a fact. like, verbatim.

they all work together like cogs in a machine, that DOESN'T mean there's only one gear. they are separate mechanisms that require each other to work.

By your logic astrology, magic and cryptozoology are also real subjects.

OFCOURSE THEY CAN WORK TOGTHER I JUST SAID SO IN MY PREVIOUS FUCKING COMMENTS.

Genetics drift, genetic flow and bias mutation are all a result of natural selection. They are all part of one method.

I have studied, i have asked theologians, nobody has given me a proper answer of why an intelligent god would make a retarded design.
User avatar #200 - coolcalx (05/15/2013) [-]
"concepts of God"
did you miss this part? theology doesn't require the presupposition that a deity exists.

did you? let's check.

nope. you didn't.
