I just don't feel like it's really safe giving an 8 year old a gun, you can explain him and teach him how dangerous it is and how to use it, but accidents are much more likely to happen when kids are involved. I'm from belgium and my parents knew a family who owned a gun, it was always empty and the kid was used to it being empty. one day he played with the gun along with a friend, for some reason it was loaded, gun went off, kid died. if you give kids kidsized guns, i feel like such tragedies are more likely to happen.

It is better to give kids guns. It teaches them about the dos and don'ts My dad gave me a gun when I was 8. This way people don't grow up and not know how to use it properly and kill them selves. And if something happens to the kid it is the parents fault for being stupid and not showing proper gun safety. Treat the gun as it is always loaded. No matter what. If they taught the kid that he would not have died.

They should not let him play with it. A gun is not a toy. They should always have it put up where it is locked. That is the fault of the parents. If you teach them, by the time they are 13 they should be able to use it alone. Because of years of training with the parents. The kid in the picture looks to young. 8 years is when you should first do it. My friend about 21 years old. ( I was 18 at the time when he was 21) He wanted to shoot my 12 guage, I asked if he knew what he was doing, he said yes. I gave him the gun and he swung the loaded gun around and it pointed right at my face, if that went off I'd be dead. If someone would have taught him at a young age then he would not have not that. Guns are not toys and if anything happens it is the parents fault. I went over to someone elses house before and this dumbass kept putting a pistol to his head ( a revolver ) and pulled the trigger. My 7 y/o cousin has his own .22 his dad is so strict even when he is cleaning the gun nobody is allowed downstairs (where he cleans it) he doesn't even let them play with it when it isn't loaded, same thing with bb guns my uncle is strict as hell. But I get how you feel like that
