True, the those most frequent with having speech unrecognizable by others are those with a heavy southern accent. I wasn't making a joke I was stating fact that the southern states have the lowest literacy rates and the heaviest accent.

I have lived in the state of Texas my entire life and frankly I tend to distance myself from those sorts of people, if you go out into the country then yes this would be true, but in the areas I live(Near DFW) people tend to have a much clearer speaking tone.(Living here has given me a deep seeded hatred of the Texan' accent...)
