Sure I'd like to know how are they related. I dug a bit into lore during my playthrought but I never found connection between Lautrec and Knightess.

i think it was just a nice touch for the video. Lautrec is a bastard through and through. unlike kirk he kills people for the fun of it and because of some delusion that his goddess loves him. im pretty sure they aren't connected but i could be wrong

I think people give Lautrec too much shit.

He is absolutely psychopathic, yes, but he's still a knight and obviously has a sense of honour, as he helps you twice despite not needing to, and even gives you an award despite not needing to.

He expresses concern toward you and your safety, and when you attack him, he's shocked and expresses former gratitude toward you.

There's a bit more as well, in removed dialogue, that paint him as a far more remorseful character, capable of genuine kindness, and expresses despair at the thought of your death or hollowing.

He's not so much an 'evil' character as he just cares about his goddess more than anybody else. Whether she cares about him as well, or just considers him a pawn, remains unclear, but the tragedy of his story is just that; that he was willing to give up everything, home, titles, land, family, friends, gold, and completely isolate himself, because he truly believed in her love for him.

ya but theres a lot of shitty instances of characters having a tragic story as a result of circumstance. like take seigmeyer, he is one of the most honour bound knights in the story along side tarkus and solaire but the player character keeps taking his glory from him and if you let him have it he dies but if you save him he hollows and his daughter is forced to kill him, no matter what you do you doom seigmeyer. lautrec must have done something to deserve being tossed in jail in an old decayed church and he employs his flunkys to gank you, his sense of honor clearly isnt a priority for him

lautrec is a shitlord but you know who is a bigger one? the chosen undead. you go on a quest with no direction and no idea what you are really doing. with the cut content back in you would see oscar going mad with jealousy for you, you make seigmeyers death unavoidable, solair either goes insane or you stop his and he helps you kill gwyn his lord.

lautrec seems to follow loosley from the ideals of kirk except kirk gains humanity at the sacrifice of his dignity and kills to gather for quelanna to make sure she lives, but lautrec doesnt seem to know much about his goddess, she is using him or at the very least abandoned him

I enjoyed killing Lautrec and tried to avoid Kirk. Plus after getting Lordvessel I farmed humanity like crazy to give it to Fair Lady.
