Let me lay some cold hard logic on you.

Straight men go after women. There is a set number of men and women in the world. If, hypothetically, every woman was monogamous they would not cheat on men with other men. Therefore, when a man "claims" a woman she is unavailable to other men. If some of those men were to not go after women and instead other men, then the number of men who have claimed/want to claim a woman drops. Since arguably there is one gay man for every three or four, straight men odds of landing a woman goes up 25-33% because there are less men in competition.

TL:DR version: You're right, it wouldn't affect the number of women, but instead affects the competition men have together for women.

There are still lesbians to factor in too. They make great porn, but don't expect them to say yes

may be I wasn't clear. Whether you support the gay men or not they will still be gay. Thus, not go after women independent of your opinion about them. So, whether you support them or not the competition for women is still between straight men. Get it?
