Depends what you expect.

It wasn't a great RTS.
It wasn't a great Halo title.
It had a bit of story.
But it wasn't a BAD game, just didn't excel at anything like you'd expect form the Pre-H4 Franchise.

Well, the Israelites stole their land, so they have every right.

Alright, let's talk stolen lands. It was British lands that they divided into Palestine and Israel after WW2 so they could prevent another genocide of the Jews and give them a homeland where they could flee to. There was nowhere for them to find refuge, not really, before that. So, while not necessarily the nicest thing to do, it was indeed a noble action. Before that it was a part of the Ottoman Empire, and the people called themselves Jordanians for the most part. Before that it was part of various Islamic empires and shiekdoms, ignoring the Crusades and the flip flopping of the territory, it was before that Byzantinian/Eastern Roman, before that it was Roman. That is when it was originally called Palestinia or some bullshit Latin version, after Rome sacked Jerusalem they wanted to taunt the Jews, so they named the area after their most hated historical enemy: the Philistines. That's like if Rome renamed Greece Persus or something.

Before that it was Israeli. As for the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Israel had also captured the entire Sinai Peninsula, but gave it away to Egypt in a peace talk, despite it being an area rich with oil. The reason they hold what they do is because Israel is so small that they cannot defend it against mortars and shit if they didn't take the West Bank. If you're a Muslim who is simply defending Muslims despite them targeting innocents, forcing their own to become martyrs to paint the IDF as evil, and ignoring that Hamas purposefully sets up rockets in heavily populated areas, hospitals, and schools; kindly fuck off. If you're someone who has not read into the issue enough or thought enough on the matter, and mostly just sees the heavily-biased and sensationalized media out there, then I highly recommend reading into it.

Palestinians would be happy if the terrorists they elected into leadership did not oppress them, and pin the blame on Israel. There would be no bombs, there would be no offensives, there would be no annexations, and no restrictions due to terrorist threats left and right.

And again, Israelis were given some of their ancestral lands so they could have a homeland again. They didn't steal it, Britain and the UN gave it to them. The day after the British left, every nation around them declared war. They didn't try to deal with it, they tried to exterminate them. So fuck off mate, with your "stole" bullshit.
#90 - skebaba (07/13/2016) [-]
The British could had given their own fucking country to the jews, then. Scumbags all of them. Or build a new country on water by dumping thousands of tons of dirt into a water area.

Do you not understand how winning wars worked? When you won, you got territory. The British then owned that land and gave it to the Jews. It's also their ancestral home, and the home of their only holy site in the world. All they currently have is a piece of land smaller than New Jersey.

People post the picture of Modern Israel and the shrinking of territory owned by Palestine, but they don't show the shrinking of Israeli territory either, them willing giving up an area of land that is larger than what they now own, they don't show the surrounding Arab nations that dwarf the region so much that you would pretty much not be able to see the change in territories, add in that before 1973 Palestinians called themselves Jordanians, Egyptians, and Lebanese, the Palestinian identity simply did not exist until Jordan made peace with Israel.
#92 - skebaba (07/14/2016) [-]
Then they have nobody but themselves to blame if the true owners of the lands take them back by force from the thieves. The true owners of the land will always be the people living there, not some retard far away.
User avatar
#94 - commontroll (07/14/2016) [-]
And now the Israelis have lived there for over 70 years. And again, it's how the world worked, get the fuck over it.

until everyone an exploit that i hope they fix
User avatar
#44 - zers (07/07/2016) [-]
What exploit?
User avatar
#50 - tehavatar (07/07/2016) [-]
brute chopper rush surpassed the idea of being OP and right into the this realm of "I'm building brute choppers, now you cannot play and you must out-chopper me to win"
The importance of resources around the map and starting the game with infantry instead of a scout vehicle now is part of why it is such an exploit.
User avatar
#54 - zers (07/07/2016) [-]
So basically resources have a greater importance forcing players to arm up faster and gain control over them? Brute Choppers just being the best at this as they are fast and have good dps?
User avatar
#59 - tehavatar (07/07/2016) [-]
the early game resources has changed from everyone sending out a harmless scout, to everyone sending out marines or grunts(you no longer need a baracks to build them, they build right out of your base) to get those very important resources. Choppers are built right out of the base as well, and come with guns. The UNSC has no equivalent, their base vehicle does not come with guns. Vehicles kill infantry, so 1 or 2 choppers and you have complete map control for the early game, and nothing (believe me I have checked) you can try and rush out will stand up to the power of their 10 choppers at only 4 minutes of the game, especially because they got all of the map resources, bases, and minibases from that early game map control.

Eventually the beta was just everyone at diamond level and above rushing choppers better and faster.

There's basically a long winded explanation of why the choppers just kind of break the game.
User avatar
#60 - zers (07/07/2016) [-]
Ah alright. Once you secure the early resources your opponent cannot contest the lategame.
User avatar
#61 - tehavatar (07/07/2016) [-]
well there isn't really a late game is the problem. If your opponent has an incontestable force at your base in a few minutes, all the while controlling all the bases and resources (meaning late game your fucked anyway) theres nothing you can do but try to do it first.
User avatar
#63 - zers (07/07/2016) [-]
So it's literally just your opponent has a small force at your base before you can do anything? Are the bases even hidden?
User avatar
#64 - tehavatar (07/07/2016) [-]
oh right.. no in halo wars all potential bases and mini-bases on the map are set places on the map, you cannot build your bases anywhere.

Rushing with a small force early in the game has always been a thing in halo wars like most RTS's but this is different. It's sort of like this very large and powerful force very early on, that also secures you the late game (by securing the early game reasources and bases, giving you thrice the resource production of your opponents) in the process so there is no downside to spending everything you have got with the rush which you can't defend against.
And of course being an RTS there are many ways to defend from a rush but the fact that this rush is SO powerful and also maintains map control in the process is just too much so you're fucked.

Vulture massing I think

Vultures was the UNSC Super weapon in the last game and this game shortened the cost of them so matches with 10 Vultures were almost common. Going Anti-Air won me a lot of games to the brink since Vultures manage to still beat my AA

But then I found out the UNSC Pelican Airstrike knocked those out of the sky

>>#50,
I don't want to sound like a douche by the way but I had like 80 wins and 2 losses in the beta. From my experience and what I learned by chopper rushing and getting chopper rushed, it is a massive problem to the game's meta.
but its a beta so hopefully they fix the problems they found.
#68 - stormblink (07/11/2016) [-]
That's fine. I had only played 6 games with all of them being wins. I never experienced the Chopper rush besides myself doing it. I found my enemy kept being quiet until one of them pushed Huge amounts of Vultures out. The best game was the one where everyone seemed to go Infantry with sparse amounts of Warthogs and Wraithes roaming around
