Well. The person playing white is utterly retarded. The only possible way to lose is letting black get one piece through, yet he lets him take 3 pawns with his tower in a side, the only "easy" places to get through, before he even does any thing.
My point still stands that it shouldn't be possible to lose a pawn without taking a piece. The white player doesn't defend his pawns(insanely bad placement) and lets the tower through the right side without doing anything, so the queen gets to the backline and is capable of clearing the board alone.

It might be fun if you are 2 people who just know the rules of chess and nothing else.

#55 - emiyashirou (12/29/2015) [-]
Only bad move white actually made was b5. He was lost after that, his only chance was pawn-storming while the queen was stuck at the back of his pawn structure.
User avatar
#50 - downhillGuy (12/29/2015) [-]
Slightly different scenario. this one has more pieces for the "royals", allowing sacrifices to break the "pawn" uniformity

In the post's scenario I agree it would be a fun game but the pawns will win as catzor mentioned.
(ps thumbed down #18 as the comment doesn't make logical chess sense)

I could have been a little more clear. In the content above, your king and queen have a ton of breathing room, so you can shift one of them up and back down to force your opponent to move Timed right, you can't have any pieces taken, and they're be wide open. If you huge the walls with your queen, it''ll give you a chance to get behind the pawn forces, and take out any queens made from any empty spaces! I admit, it would be challenging, but very fun.

Quick question. /When+the+brits+get+weirder+then+the+japs/funny-pictures/5772339/

Is this what Judge Dredd is like all the time or is this a one-off silly thing? Because I now want to read this.

Hey comicexplain, question. I've never read DC, but I just got through Tower of Babel that tbhkthusgnvkrauo uploaded and most of Injustice, but I don't really know the characters or any previous arcs at all. Is there a suggested place to start?

Of course! I suggest going as far back as you can in Justice League (Not the new 52, but the actual stuff), and I think you'll find great enjoyment!

Aside from the Walking Dead, there's plenty others! For something fun, I'd suggest Zombies vs Robots ( viewcomic.com/zombies-vs-robots-010-2015/ ), Plants vs Zombies ( viewcomic.com/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-02-of-03-2015/ ), and Zombie Tramp ( viewcomic.com/zombie-tramp-v3-016-2015/ ).

For something less fun... Crossed.

Eh. Writers today are just trying to ruin what we have now. It's all very sad, but I'll still love it.

tbh i actually kinda like the new direction DC is headed in. I mean, the Batman comic has been running for over 75 years with no massive change to the Batman character since Miller.
75 years.
3 quarters of a century.
with very little change to the character. Literally everything surrounding batman has changed except the man himself.

What the most powerful comic book universe?
User avatar #1155 to #1154 - comicexplain (11/27/2015) [-]
That's an interesting question! If I had to throw my stick, I would say Marvel, and not because of their heroes. DC's heroes could easily destroy Marvels - The issue is their eldritch abominations! Celestials are just the tip of the iceberg for them - Heck, if I had to throw a thought, Celestials are only at the power of New Gods.

The scary thing is, they have more powerful creatures. Some who could even defeat the Anti-M from DC.
User avatar #1156 to #1155 - foodyquest (11/27/2015) [-]

You write stories, what kind? And it sounds like you're a pretty productive guy.
User avatar #1150 to #1149 - comicexplain (11/25/2015) [-]
Depends on your idea of productive; to me it is, and it keeps me active, and that's what matters.

I write stories, yes! I'm one of those lazy mooches who are 'working on that novel' that I'll never finish. It's a fun idea, but eh. I'm in love with the concept, anyway!
User avatar #1151 to #1150 - thesupervillian (11/25/2015) [-]
I honestly would never expect you to be anything like a mooch. Sure it's not probably just something like you hittin a slump? Plus, if you're able to be here on FJ everyday but still manage a social life then you are definitely one productive member of society.
User avatar #1152 to #1151 - comicexplain (11/25/2015) [-]
I'm using the term liberally; I'm definitely not a mooch. Just poking fun at myself.

As for a productive member of society... Not so much! I just do what I can with what I have to who I can.
User avatar #1153 to #1152 - thesupervillian (11/25/2015) [-]
Sorry, sometimes something like that may fly over my head when reading text.

Also, my definition of a productive member of society is pretty much someone who maintains a social structure of some sort without managing to blow something up. But as i'm sure you're aware, a lot of that stuff is based on point of view.

I need to ask you these questions for science
1. Do you write in cursive or print?
2. Does your writing slant and if so, in what direction?
3. Are you left or right handed?
4. Do you find your handwriting neat?
5. How old are you?
6. Do you consider yourself well educated?
User avatar #1120 to #1116 - comicexplain (10/08/2015) [-]
1. Not cursive, but my font depends on my mood; if not chicken scratch, then fancy print on small letters, or simply print in small letters.

2. No slant, if I can help it, aside from chicken scratch - Slants from left to right, top to bottom ().

3. Right. I was practicing to be ambidextrous, and I should start doing that again, but right.

4. Depends on my mood, but mostly no.

5. 22, 23 when the 26th comes along.

6. Mhhhh... Educated, as in well-schooled, not particularly - I don't math very well. But with other things, yes. I hate to use the word intelligent loosely, thanks to fedora tippers who abused it, but I like to think I'm very 'smart' (In my last year of high school, I was pulled out of the one gifted class I forced myself to go into to do a random test thing in the back. They never explained to me what it was, but I was told it was to quiz my intelligence. I -destroyed- this lady's book. She said in her 20 years of doing this, I'm the only one she personally found who could do everything without flubbing up once).

So... Well educated? No, not by definition; I have only graduated high school, and haven't stopped foot into a college. But I do believe I've educated myself, and am fairly smurt, if that's the spirit behind the question?

Batman is basically really calm, focused and no-nonsense, right? Has there ever been an instance where he lost or almost lost control, and let his anger get the better of him?
User avatar #1105 to #1104 - comicexplain (10/04/2015) [-]
Three's not a lot! But it has indeed happened a handful of times, typically when working with the Joker.

However, even then, his anger seems proper for the setting, as if it's meant to get to the next part of the scene! It's all thought out, even down to his most outrageous moments!
User avatar #1106 to #1105 - crazyolitis (10/04/2015) [-]

Batman: Hush

He almost kills Joker because he persumably killed Batman's childhood friend Thomas Elliot (and other reasons included), but is stopped and persuaded not to by Catwoman and Gordon. Whether Batman tried to kill Joker for reasons above or because he was under Poison Ivy's spell that happens earlier is up to the reader to decide.

Basically the whole story arc is complete psycho trip for Bats, as he cannot trust his allies, his senses or his very self.
User avatar #1118 to #1106 - hellomynameisbill (10/08/2015) [-]
The Dark Knight: Batman vs. Salvatori Maroni

this is from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. It's from after the Joker blows up Rachel Dawes and Batman tries to cope with the loss by beating a whole load of people up.
#1117 to #1106 - hellomynameisbill (10/08/2015) [-]
The Dark Knight Returns. when Old Joker comes back into action, Old Man Wayne decides to kill him once and for all although with his arsenal of generally non-lethal weapons . Joker snaps his own neck right before Batsy can to deprive him the satisfaction.

#1100 to #1099 - comicexplain (09/30/2015) [-]
Ah, well - In the graphic novel Joker, he raped a woman. The man characters ex wife. I hate, hate rape, so that would be my answer, even if it did suit the story perfectly.

However! 'The Murder Of Sarah Essen' is probably one of the better ones, when he's about to kill a -whole bunch- of babies he stole from a hospital. He forces Sarah, who was Gordon's wife, to choose between herself and the babies.

He shot her in the head, and admits it wasn't that funny as he walks away.
