All particles have their equivalent antiparticles.
Even with a shit ton of money you wouldn't be able to do it. We simply just don't have the technology. The only antiparticles we can create are results of excessive energy in particle collisions, such as the LHC. We can gather these particles, but it's something like a millionth of a gram that is created each year.

#36 - drdoalot (12/20/2012) [-]
insofar as hydrogen is a specific form of matter yes. Antimatter is just like regular matter except the sub-atomic particles are composed of anti-quarks, with the opposite values of their counterpart quarks.

Learning math or science from Wikipedia is like drinking from a fire hose.

one rule of thumb, reading about something on the wikipedia, specially when talking about science, actually doesnt make you understand nothing, only makes you believe you do

I had a hysterical image of this man just staring at this beautiful planet he created, hands on is hips as he grins that self-satisfactory grin. Then the first motherships arrived, prepared to unload their saved human cargo to begin the creation of the Earth anew.
Then it all explodes because that's physics.
Physics is a dick.
#12 - AnonymousDonor (12/20/2012) [-]
except you, my dear dumbass, forgot to read what happens when matter interacts with antimatter

assuming such a world could exist in our matter-dominated universe, your very presence would immediately be vaporized into light by all the colliding antimatter
#37 - drdoalot (12/20/2012) [-]
annihilating you mean, collisions have nothing to do with it.

Don't try and be a dick when you can't physics.
#20 - noisyboy (12/20/2012) [-]
Calm your tits mate it was a joke.
#21 - AnonymousDonor (12/20/2012) [-]
well duh so was mine - i just used it to correct him as well

but apparently that's the worst thing you can do is assert a little education so my bad
#49 - creepycreeper (12/20/2012) [-]
He says he was joking, but the thread stemming from comment #16 proves he wasn't. Why do people do this? They act like complete dickwads, and when feeling the brunt of backlash they start claiming that they were joking/trolling.
#23 - noisyboy (12/20/2012) [-]
Well it didn't read like a joke to me it read like you were being a massive cunt about it, and by the looks of the red thumbs you got at least 5 other people agree with me.
#24 - AnonymousDonor (12/20/2012) [-]
oh well then clearly you must be right so by all means heres another comment to thumb down
#39 - Orangewo (12/20/2012) [-]

User avatar #14 - Keril (12/20/2012) [-]
So if he said he's build a world of normal matter you wouldn't have had any problem with it?
#16 - AnonymousDonor (12/20/2012) [-]
that is perhaps the stupidest and most random response i've ever...
i'm.. i'm sorry that was rude i really don't mean to insult your intelligence, but.... really??
how could you possibly think that's where my train of thought was headed?

but to answer your question i mean technically it is a lot more possible to build a world of normal matter, so yeah that would be at least a little more physically sound
i'm not sayin i wouldn't have any problems with it, but i wouldn't have as many
User avatar #30 - Protomix (12/20/2012) [-]
Please, don't start. I can understand why you're upset, but all you've done is point out a very basic property of a theoretical particle. There is very little grounds for you to react in the fashion that you have.
#17 - N. Korean citizen (12/20/2012) [-]
Damn bro you're so smart and superior... in your moms basement.

stfu tryhard
#18 - AnonymousDonor (12/20/2012) [-]
ah so now funnyjunk gets butthurt over people who know more physics?

good to know....
#33 - deadlyambitions (12/20/2012) [-]
so ppl on funnyjunk get butthurt cuz they don't know a joke when they read it(you).
If anyone would believe that they would probably look up something like that and realize its not possible for those who dont already know.

so instead of just tearing down a perfectly good joke with troll physics y not laugh at the logic then say in a non-assholeish way that its not possible
#31 - corruptedfrenzy (12/20/2012) [-]
It's not the fact that you know more physics, it's the fact that you just killed a perfectly good joke. This website is a haven for potentially funny content, and you, trying to give everyone a physics lesson is not cool. Maybe you should stop studying physics once and a while and study a joke and have a laugh.
#19 - N. Korean citizen (12/20/2012) [-]
I don't know why you're getting red thumbs because that's the first thing I thought; if you want to make an antimatter planet, you would first have to supercharge every atom until you had enough to make an anti-Earth, put it in a magnetic chamber to prevent it from touching matter, and as soon as the first person enters the planet, all that effort explodes.

tl;dr BOOM!
