Mens rea is the knowledge that you are actually going to kill someone some time before hand, considering he planted a fucking bomb, then drove to an island with guns, then shot children with sed guns, i think he was planning this some while before hand.

still can be argued as a form of self defense
he did it all because of his hatred for muslims, correct

"kill them before they kill us"
he just killed children instead, as an example

the way in which he killed people (he had no way of knowing if they were Muslim or not) and he showed no signs of remorse or guilt is the main factor his psychiatrists are saying he is insane, because he is a psychopath, who went out with the intention of killing people, giving him Mens rea

but, he didnt think it was in any way wrong, and if he did, he didnt care
in his own twisted logic, he did nothing wrong, hence is not responsible for his actions, therefore, not guilty

im saying hes not guilty, as he did nothing wrong by his own morality and standards, which is what is needed for a crime to actually take place

he should still be locked away, as he is clearly dangerous

no no no, you do not need mens rea to be charged as guilty, instead you murder charge goes into neglect, insanity or man slaughter etc, not murder by definition. even if you do not think you are doing something wrong, you can still be found guilty, because lets be honest, he is going to be found guilty
