That more up the Newcastle end, we don't talk about them...
They're like the crazy uncle of the north!

Most English people sound sarcastic when we express any kind of emotion.
Same with "that's awesome" or "I'm having so much fun"

Cob just makes me think of corn on the cob, so if I asked for a cob and was given bread... Well I'd be pissed!

It's mostly a type of bun that is made by cooking it as the bottom of an over (no idea why) so some places it's know as an oven bottom.

Aye I think breadcake is the worst!

Only true Northern thing that I find silly is "awaaay man, awaaaay" makes me chuckle.

Southerners seem to say "brilliant" sarcastically a lot too.

If you call it a cob/ bread roll, you're no Northerner!

- Bap
- Bun
- Barm
- Oven bottom
any of those go, up my end.

It's 70%Cob/20Bap/10Bun here but cob seems exclusive to my county. Southerners don't know cob either. Bap and Barm sounds silly to me and what the fuck is an oven bottom lol. Oh well "Breadcake" is the worst of them all we can agree on that right?

Ah yes, that old debate.
My old flat mate is from the West Midlands and we always tell her to pick a side, there is no middle.

Gotta be north, can't stand the ARRR sound in words glass grass ect. Also the trod/trud scon/scone oh and the heated battles as to what you should call this (see pic) It's a fucking cob mate, not a roll or bap lol

User avatar #48 - clitersaurus (09/03/2014) [-]
Not quite, Derbyshire, East Midlands. At uni I'm considered a southerner to people from Sunderland and a Northerner by the London/Cornwall lot.

We're closer sounding to Northerners but there's definitely a difference!
