I'm not on the internet for the sole purpose of bashing Greek life, I just stumbled across this comment and gave my two cents, which is that greek life is an unnecessary aspect of college life that promotes dangerous amounts of underage drinking, hazing, sexual assault, a gross culture, and all for a price tag.

I do know about the things you've mentioned about frats/sororities. I have a couple friends in sororities/fraternities. I know good people in greek life. And quite frankly, that doesn't change my opinion. To me, joining a fraternity would be surrendering part of my individuality and control of my life to an organization that encourages exclusivity and obedience. I know there are different kinds of frats as well, but really they're just different shades of shitty brown.
And perhaps it is a comfort to know that you can go to any chapter of your sorority house. If you literally pay money to buy into that, then by all means. But I don't need something as fucking useless in my life as a frat, and as you can see neither does any other country in the world.

Ah. I'm British, only German-esque (I believe both are German though I'm not sure) supermarkets we have are Lidl and Aldi and there isn't even a Lidl in my town or the next three around it, but we have two Aldis. Neither of them hired me. I'm offended.
