Ah fuck...

I'm from a family torn apart by a divorce with my mum going absolutely insane. I haven't seen my two younger sisters in years, despite me trying. My youngest sister is nine years younger than me and we were always hanging out together, going for walks, going cycling, playing in the park. Hell, up to her 7th year I raced her to school in a pram whenever I had time. Played in the snow with her, took her out to theme parks, did everything with her. I loved her to death and she had a character more akin to mine than anyone else in the family. Had a sense of humour that I thought impossible for a girl that young to have.

When she hit twelve, did her second communion, I tried to get in touch with her again. Not easy, I hate my mum with a passion and the only reason I haven't killed her is because it wouldn't solve anything and would only fuck my life up, and I refuse to let her fuck up my future, after she's fucked up my past.

It went well. We planned the trip to the theme park she really liked to go to. Got the tickets, pic-nick basket, car was ready; Since my mum was paranoid that my dad would kidnap her, I'd even humoured her and let my eldest sister and a friend of hers tag along.
On the day itself, as I was driving to pick her up, I got a simple text from her that said 'I can't come.'

Called back, no reply. Drove there, nobody there. I knew where she could be hiding otherwise, as I knew all the family of my mum well enough (did a fuckton of chores for them when I was younger). Drove to her mum (my grandfather died of cancer years prior, the only person who could've probably kept my mum in line. I don't blame him one bit though. He was an amazing man, and died happily, having had everything he had wanted in life). Nobody there either. Went to a small gathering of houses on a plot of land a while away, where a bunch of aunts, uncles and cousins of my mum lived. There they were. Her cousins tried to block my way, firmly at first, then violently as I insisted. I'm a construction worker. I sport a fuckton. I love survival runs, and practise karate frequently enough to be decent at it. And. I. Was. Fucking. Angry.

And I couldn't even attack them. Because I knew I was probably being filmed. I knew my mum is insane enough to pull that off. So I merely punched one squarely in the face when he tried to punch me, and the others kept their distance yelling at me. Cops came, more yelling, me trying to stay calm and explain things, police didn't feel at ease with a bunch of apes yelling and decided to pacify things by asking me to drive with them to a bit further.

Told them the story, they sat quiet for a bit, then I broke down. My mum's fucked up my future. Lied to me. Put me through ten years of medical drug overdose without even testing me, hitting my dad, forbidding him and using emotional leverage and her position as a therapist to keep him from questioning the shit she gave me. (rilatine, later switched to concerta. Lost weight after use, so I received too high dosages for ten years, taking it daily). Stole my entire savings that she had contributed nothing to, and another bunch of shit that she had pulled on me and my father, the only person who's had my back since the day I was born, through thick and thin, and the only human being alive that I trust unconditionally.

But nothing, nothing she had done hurt as much as taking my youngest sister away from me, and leaving me powerless to do so.
All I can do is pray, hope and pray, that when she gets older, she'll remember me, and will want to visit me again. Because until then, anything I'd try would end in a court case as that shit is still ongoing for over 11 years between my parents.
