Japan.
Go to Japan.

Vancouver is nice. Not too hot in the summers and not too cold in the winters (-2 right now and it's not gonna get much colder). Plenty of mountains to try snowboarding at including Whistler and Big White which are amazing.

I really like where I live.
User avatar #59 - chieflongnap (12/06/2013) [-]
Isn't Vancouver super expensive to live in though? I thought the cost of living was crazy high. I personally live in Ottawa at the moment (after living here for 3 years then moving to Cambridge Ontario for a few months, that city was stupid expensive for what you were paying for)
#117 - drasticdragon (12/07/2013) [-]
I'll give you some perspective. In Montreal a good condo can go for $300,000 and in Vancouver the same condo would go for 1.5 million
User avatar #96 - doctorque (12/07/2013) [-]
Yes its expensive.
Yes is city.

In all seriousness though it is really nice if you have a good job.

I wanna say we DONT say "Eh" Alot... but i personally say "eh" at least 40 times day...

i think it sounds better than "what"

anyone else on the same boat?
User avatar #75 - thedood (12/07/2013) [-]
I'd say we use "eh" as a replacement for a word like "huh" rather than "what". As in "It's pretty cold out there eh?" instead of "It's pretty could out there huh?" ""It's pretty could out there what?" just doesn't make as much sense to me. I do however fully agree with you that "Eh" sounds better.
User avatar #60 - chieflongnap (12/07/2013) [-]
I do the exact same thing. I just personally like saying "eh" but there are a lot more people who never say it. I'm the only person I know who says it.

It's -30 here today in Edmonton. I suggest packing a toque.
#41 - fuelnfire (12/06/2013) [-]
Had to help push out this minivan that got stuck in a snowbank near londonderry mall. 20 Minutes of pushing without gloves. It almost hurts to type this.

Pack a toque, jacket, sweater, and assloads of socks and gloves haha.
User avatar #47 - bokkos (12/06/2013) [-]
Good god man, get yourself over a heater pronto.
User avatar #51 - fuelnfire (12/06/2013) [-]
First thing I did haha. I have that wonderful prickly pins and needles almost painful warmth coming out of my hands and face now. Gotta love the city of being cold and oil workers - i mean champions.

If you want freeze-your-balls-to-the-ground weather, go to northern BC. It has snow as well, which is fun.
If you just want to be able to go in the snow regularily, without freezing your nuts to the ground every time you sit, try Coquitlam. Not the best place in canada, but it's nice and quiet.

I understand that ! I feel that jobs have to fit in with the style evolving. It is normal to see a guy with long hair today. So it should not be a problem to see him in a store. (in my eyes)

Yeah, unfortunately that kind of judgement still goes on where I live, especially for public facing jobs, but it depends on the place really.

same people in similar positions, it could be redone.
companies like that try to sell their positions as "the middle ground", as in, this is the job you get coming out of high school and we don't expect you to stay more than 5 years. So they tend to go for the near drop out up to A students with no previous (or minimum) experience doing anything.

Fuck that !! Long hair should not be an excuse.. I like it on guys, and if girls can have it, so can boys !
User avatar #240 - chogrocker (11/01/2013) [-]
Indeed. It's not even that bad, just over shoulder length and it looks tidy enough. If they judge people like that then I'm kind of glad I didn't get the job there, if I'm honest.

you have proof, and witnesses... time for a law suit.

I've been turned down from a mcdonalds because I am over qualified and they are worried that they could put up the money for me to get trained then find a job in my field and quit. fml.
User avatar #131 - thegamerslife (10/31/2013) [-]
that was a tad gumbled.
>I am a high risk of leaving.
>mcD trains me
>shortly after I find electrical work
>I quit
>they wasted time/money training me.

User avatar #189 - chogrocker (10/31/2013) [-]
Yeah, that makes sense. I have quite a few qualifications but my friend (who told me I got turned down due to my hair) has loads of As and is way smarter than me. I'd like to to get a law suit going, if only just to give them the middle finger, but it was over a year ago now so it wouldn't really be worth it now.
