the other one had cp and was arrested

fucked up shit, man. they should just stay in prison.

Yeah I think they were both in a secure unit most of their sentences.

It's believed they turned out that way as their parents ignored, neglected and beat them and left them to watch nothing but horror movies, so they grew up believing that was just normal and saw literally nothing wrong with what they did.

Holding the power of Thor makes you Thor
Even if you're not Thor Odinsson you're still Thor

Just like having the powers of Superman makes you Superman even if you're not Kal El
Or the suit&gadgets&shit of Batman makes you Batman even if you're not Bruce Wayne

This is how superheroes work son it's not a lineage deal

Thor Odinsson is the norse god of thunder, son of Odin the Allfather
Thor is whosoever wields Mjölnir the hammer of Thor
#81 - FearsomeDraken (09/25/2014) [-]
Tell that to this dude..Beta Ray Bill...power of Thor..NOT Thor.
User avatar
#83 - captainprincess (09/25/2014) [-]
He didn't wield Mjölnir though, which I'll admit is a technicality, but it means he wasn't imbued with the power of Thor, but an emulation, of what I think was prettymuch equal power.

I never followed any of the actual storylines that closely, I just know that superheroes aren't limited by a singular identity inhabiting it, they are an identity unto themselves, inhabitable by anyone worthy enough
User avatar
#89 - FearsomeDraken (09/25/2014) [-]
Actually he did have Mjolnir for awhile. And there was a big rivalry between him and Thor over it. So Odin gave Beta Ray Bill his own hammer named Stormbreaker with similar powers. And now they're allies when they meet up.
User avatar
#92 - captainprincess (09/25/2014) [-]
Interesting to think that there would at any time be more than one worthy wielder of Mjölnir though

Those kinds of weapons/items tend to be VERY picky about chosen heroes and the number thereof

wasn't bill some kind of identity thief anyway? like, his original form or whatever?
not to negate his shortlived Thorhood but it WOULD lend some credit to him not having been Thor since his deal I thought was to steal identities
User avatar
#93 - FearsomeDraken (09/25/2014) [-]
Not in the original story. If they wrote another one about it I'm not aware of it.
User avatar
#94 - captainprincess (09/25/2014) [-]
so he was just some random alien out in the middle of bumfuck space and found a magic norse hammer?
User avatar
#95 - FearsomeDraken (09/25/2014) [-]
No, Shield detected alien spaceship. Sent Thor. Fought to standstill, Thor lost hammer, turned back into human form. Beta Ray picked it up and took on the powers. Showed up to earth and kicked some Shield ass when they started bugging him. Odin transported him to Asgard confusing him for Thor because he had the hammer. Quickly figured out it wasn't his son. Transported Thor to Asgard. Called for fight to the death over who gets the power. Both fight to standstill. Beta Ray Bill proven badass and given his own hammer. That's the story more or less...very condensed.
User avatar
#96 - captainprincess (09/25/2014) [-]
so Bill was worthy of Mjölnir since the start

One of the conditions is pure of heart or something right?
So the poor alien got picked on for no goddamn reason and was justified in using it to get some vengeful asskickery

The only time I ever saw beta ray bill was in that hulk movie see, where he gets his ass beat something baaaaad

kinda badass in that but didn't hang around long enough to become all that likable really
User avatar
#100 - FearsomeDraken (09/25/2014) [-]
Didn't catch on well enough for him to be a regular feature. And generally Marvel has a giant hard on for Hulk so he always kicks everyones ass most of the time.
User avatar
#101 - captainprincess (09/25/2014) [-]
and he did
it was pretty cool really, after that movie I generally feel like that should be the canon "end" of his story, and that anything happening to/around him from now on should be from that planet or on it
User avatar
#103 - FearsomeDraken (09/25/2014) [-]
I'm not 100% if I've seen that movie. Generally I don't watch the Hulk movies since I'm not a big fan of the character. Except Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.

did he now
well kudos to him
he was Thor for a little while I guess
#80 - anon (09/25/2014) [-]
And as we can all see from the above comment, handling it in this fashion was clearly a good idea and is not confusing at all...
User avatar
#86 - captainprincess (09/25/2014) [-]
No, it's not confusing.

I mean, not if you can actually separate a superhero from their civilian identity (I know that doesn't count for Thor specifically but the principle makes it very easy to remember the difference between Thor and Thor Odinsson)

I'm not opposed to giving Thorette a new name but, thre's no reason to. She's Thor. let marvel themselves state that she's NOT Thor and she won't be Thor.

Technically the new Thor could be human (do we know her origin yet?)
She could show up in an animated skit

Best 2 out of 3?

Still speculation though
