I personally have never harmed myself but having been around a lot of people who have, it's understood that it isn't a good thing to do, I think it's more seen as something to end the numbness that comes from the emotional repression. I think people are who feel that harming themselves is something they should do are in genuine need of help. What I think might fit what you're saying are *mostly* over-emotive teenagers who feign depression for attention and sympathy.

I also agree with you to an extent about suicide, but I feel there are situations that people can be in where suicide is a geniune option, but these are rare things, and usually it is the case you described.
#368 - chaoticwaffle (06/15/2013) [-]
Oh yes, I'm in agreement that suicide can be an option, just not in most cases. In most cases it's the cheapest way out.

Why would we rage about a comment that doesn't affect anything?

Start a suicide hotline that talks them into it then maybe we'll appreciate how much of a hardass you are.
#148 - chaoticwaffle (06/15/2013) [-]
I've seen quite a few people who'd be likely to become angry from a comment such as that. Lack of sympathy for those undergoing depression or those who harm themselves seems to be a taboo for some reason.

Though that could be fun.

"I.. I'm so alone... I just feel like I should end it all"

Do it Cindy. It's the only choice. Life only gets worse from here on out, you'll become a dumb bimbo working the pole just to scrape by. End it all before you become nothing but a shameful burden to your family.

I won't start one no point. All I can say is it's a shame people resort to such horrible measures. All I can do is hope I help someone else some day to maybe get off of that path. And suicide is the path of the weak who decide to throw all of their problems on someone else.

I'll let you think about how crippling of a disease depression is without the proper help and only your thoughts to help you.

that's why proper help is good help. Hopefully you have supporting parents or some other system.
#133 - chaoticwaffle (06/15/2013) [-]
I'm fully aware considering I've gone through it myself. Depression is no excuse, they are accountable for their actions. If they're weak-willed and weak-minded enough to believe cutting themselves will help and actually go through with it, then they deserve what they do. If they don't learn that it isn't okay then sucks to be them, they don't get my sympathy.

Oh, and I feel the same about those that commit suicide.

Let the torrent of rage begin.

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt was made by Studio Gainax, and is as Japanese as any other anime.

In the future, please fact-check before spouting baseless nonsense.

Some people simply don't want to cry. It's a fucking hassle. You have to get all flushed in the face, it's hard to breath, your sinus's try to drown you, you're usually completely incapacitated, and if you're like me you get a headache that lasts the rest of the time you're awake. It's totally not worth it.

Just because you don't cry doesn't mean your hiding anything. People deal with issues in different ways and crying doesn't necessarily help those who don't want to cry. Some people ball up in the fetal position for a week while others are perfectly productive dealing with the same issue. It's not a weakness NOT to cry and it's NOT a weakness to cry. It varies from person to person.
#68 - chaoticwaffle (06/03/2013) [-]
I'm fully aware. Some people don't react to emotional trauma by crying, however acknowledging that your reaction is to cry and you choose to prevent that, it can be taken as hiding.
