Well, to be honest, I haven't seen the episode yet, but I do know of her. In fact Troll-Rai pony already made a sprite for her, I could ask him if I could use it, but, well, rumor has it he/she is a bit of a troll, or you could wait until I get around to mine. What say you?

I was mostly saying it jokingly, I'm sure you've got more important things to worry about anyway. If you do eventually get around to it, I'd love to see it, but don't make it a priority or anything. If anything, I'd say watching the finale takes priority over it at least, cause it is pretty amazing. I've watched both episodes 3 times each now, and I've loved every minute.
As for using the sprite, I can't imagine a character like her being relevant for a long time in the game anyway, so you've probably got quite a while to make your own version if you want to.

Well Flutter suggested Changlings, maybe not the queen, be ditto essentially. As for what I'm doing now, well no official sprite work has been going on since I made that filly guard, it's just a matter of what is needed until 0.3 drops, I've mostly just been messing around with my Tumblr and doing random sprite requests.

If Changelings do end up being incorporated, I'd like to point out that there was at least one in the episode that looked a tad different from the others. This one had some sort of helmet along with the normal "armor" the others are decked out in. The artist who vectored this one, Stabzor, calls him the Changeling Commander, and the first time I saw him I dubbed him Commander Cocoon, running with the naming scheme they used for Queen Chrysalis.

Anyway, my point is, if you end up using Changelings in the game, this commander variant could potentially work as an evolution. The queen not being present works for me, as there's already going to be a few villain-esque characters in there already. Go ahead and do what you two think works best. I'm just here to make suggestions, critique stuff, and find resources when needed.

Well you can see what Iv'e been doing if you stop by my Tumblr, but it's mostly fame-whoring by making popular OC's, I'm hoping to get the word out from Ponymon once were ready.

I did drop by at least once and saw that you'd been doing a bit of that, I just don't have one of my own with which to comment with, or however those things work. I personally don't think it's really anything to ashamed of either. You're doing people little favors here and there, and in turn their awareness of one of your projects rises. I'll be sure to check it from time to time to see what kind of stuff you're up too though.

Well I can give you a couple of tips, first of all if you want a better base, go grab the Desktop ponies' files, they'll give you all the base sprites you need, so you won't need to take them from the game. I also recommend you work in .png, .jpg isn't sharp enough for sprites.

While I understand that there aren't much frames for the filly sprites, will Vinyl and Octavia's adult forms use their unique sprites, like this one?

Ahh, well, maybe, that was actually the shiny sprite for Octavia, but I recently discovered we can't manage the different poses for Shiny's plan unless some complicated hacking is involved. So for now, one pose to a pony, and so I must pose the question to everyone whether they would prefer a little more "silly" sprites or more normal ones?

Being that the show itself is already pretty silly at times, I would be totally okay with that. Rapidash Twilight would probably be a no-no however, since it looks quite different from her normal appearance. Pinkie with the party cannon however, I would be totally okay with, if only as an example of a more silly pose.

Something like this would be a bit more likely though I'd guess.

And this is the one weekend I'll probably have zero time to play it too. SO. MUCH. SCHOOLWORK. @_@

But I'm sure everyone else would be pretty happy if that happened.

Also, this may have been made just for fun, but I thought I'd point out that there's a weird string of white pixels on the left side of her mane. Something tells me that's not supposed to be there?

The artist affectionately referred to her as Nightmare Woona, and as for the white pixels, I believe that's just a lasting effect of stars in her mane, I haven't bothered to touch it up yet.

I guess that makes sense, since the fandom has started calling filly Luna Woona.

I don't really notice any other differences, but I'll take your word for it. The mane definitely looks better though. If only Nightmare Moon had her own evolution line, that could totally be the sprite for the filly version.

Well, I'll think about it, I would like to find a way to get Luna and Celestia to be more normal ponies, so that you don't feel dirty for using them, and If I make a Solar Flare, well we could be onto something. Dusk Shine had wanted a similar thing too, with Woona being obtainable in the wild.

Have you guys thought at all what types Celestia and Luna's lines would be? For how important they are, pure light and dark seems kinda plain, at least if they are supposed to be legendaries of some sort. And if Nightmare had her own evolution line, would she maybe be part Chaos type? If only to differentiate her from Luna?

According to the list I made, they are Light/magic and Dark/Magic, with Nightmare replacing Magic with Chaos. Chaos is typically a very powerful type, Nightmare Moon could easily be the most powerful pony. Magic is a fairly powerful type too. Although the movepool will help decide that as well., but solely on type relations they are good.

That's about what I figured. So Celestia and Luna are almost like god-tier Twilight and Trixie then. So if Nightmare were to become her own evolution line, or at least a branching evolution or something, she and Discord would basically be the Mewtwo and Mew of the game, being the most powerful legendaries. Would branching evolutions really be a good idea for Celestia and Luna though, if you only get one of each?

You raise an excellent point, while Nightmare Woona was one of my not serious projects, (Although Flutter sounded pretty serious about getting her into the game) Luna still did have a branching evolution with Nightmare Moon, and you'd only get to choose one in the end, perhaps I should talk to Flutter about having Nightmare Moon/Solar Flare as Mewtwo, and Luna and Celestia being available elsewhere.

You did say before we were in need of psudo-legendaries, right? The normal Celestia and Luna lines could maybe play that role, while their Chaos forms take Mewtwo's place in the story. Maybe even play the Pokemon Black and White card, where in Dusk version you can find Celestia, but Nightmare Moon is the "final boss" type scenario, and Dawn lets you catch Woona, with Solar Flare being at the end. Or even vice versa from that. Either way, I think it would be kind of interesting if you can catch one of the sisters normally, and the other sister plays the role of the corrupted final boss. Then switch the sisters around for the other version. This way at least the player gets to see some form of each sister in whichever version they choose to play. Just an idea.

First one seems to have a weird glitch in one of the back legs, which appears to be fixed in the second one. But honestly I had to look at one and the other in separate tabs to notice the difference in the first place.

Looks like this one's called Solar Flare, which is the most common name I've noticed for this version of Celestia, by xscaralienx, or something like that.

No special name for this one, just Evil Celestia, by SpyroTheFox.

This next one was found on Google, so the artist is unknown, but it was called Empress Solaria.

And finally, this last one I had to throw in simply because of the sheer badassery of it, even if it won't be all that useful for making a sprite. Anyway, this painting is called Umbrae Nova, by CrappyUnicorn. He/she says the concept was inspired by black holes and dying stars and such.

This may be a bit out there, but how about Mare Do Well? She could start as a filly (which I've found a vector of) grow into her standard adult form, then perhaps her final form could somehow incorporate Twilight's horn and Fluttershy's wings to make her a sort of psuedo-alicorn. At least before she was unmasked, that's what she seemed to be anyway, right?

maybe you should make her kind of like an Eevee type pony where you evolve her into a different form depending on which stone or something you get, since she is a mix of multiple ponies?

That's not a bad idea actually. I'm not sure if Chaos and Flutter have decided whether or not they're going to use Mare Do Well yet, or if she'd be a pseudo-legendary, but that would be a pretty good idea for a two-stager at least.

That's a pretty good idea, even if I'm not particularly a fan of Mare-do-Well, I can see the potential in this idea, I'll talk to Flutter about it.

It's either that, or somehow make Spike a 3-stager and make his adult form from Secret of My Excess the third stage. To make that work properly you'd probably have to move him around in the Ponydex though, since his two forms are between one of the Mane 6 and the CMCs. I'll let you know if I think of something else.

You know I saw that right before I got here, and considered trying out, but I'm sure they've already got far more talented people helping them.
