I wasnt complaining about the sword aspect. As a greatsword user Im just more accustomed to evade rolls. Don't mind the lance though. I thus wouldn't mind trading that shield for a second sword.

Then again, it was ages ago that I actually played Monster Hunter. Just sitting here... waiting for Frontier to come to EU...

There are dual swords. But SnS is just my go to because all weapons can produce near identical dps if used right. Obviously some have a harder time, such as the SnS against something taller as opposed to the greatsword. But that also means the SnS against something larger with status has a better time.

I like all the weapons and rotate between them depending on area, monster and team weapons. I'd like to see Frontier. But until then I have to wait 30 days for Monster Hunter X on 3DS.

I suppose, though I'd argue against "all weapons".

Longswords lack the punch of a heavy weapon and the finesse of a light weapon.
Gunlance is basically a lance with a makeshift hammer heavy strike.
The Sword&Board shield does fuck-all against anything sizeable unless you invest in it.

I guess I'm just too much of a hammer and greatsword elitist. Honestly, I played so many games alone that I forgot how to properly enjoy them when playing with friends.

Most people don't know how to enjoy the game with other people and they've only played the titles with online capabilities. Don't feel too bad, I got used to SP-only first as well.
