User avatar #874005 - cedrock (03/28/2014) [-]
Actually it was mainly because of Israel that we're in this amount of bullshit, which is ironic based on your Nazi reference. The 2006 war cause a lot of damage, and the government is corrupt as fuck at the moment. Politicians own the ISP companies, and make money off of them. We already have fiber optics layed around the country, aswell as lines from Dubai, yet we're still using Old cables because ISPs (Politicians, rather) want to squeeze every cent out of the current policies.
I don't see this country making any progress at all, and 1 day a second civil war is going to happen because of this, and they'll just end each other.

I'm leaving to France this summer. Can't fucking wait. This shit is driving me crazy.

I don't think it's a bad game, but I don't think it deserved Irate Ignacio's badass seal of approval either. In Oblivion there were all these mechanics added in to create depth and somewhat complex system. The guild quests were interesting, and the way you'd increase in rank based on how many quests you did for a guild made doing quests interesting to see what event would promote you next. The oblivion gates were interesting because you would be forced to fight foes much stronger than you, you didn't know if you could do it, or if your weapon/armor held up, it was this situation of risk reward that would entice players to do it because of the inevitable amazing loot.
Skyrim I feel is hollow ultimately, you're given very little context to places, and the context given to you a lot of the time is told to you, instead of shown (I have to admit though, finding the dog companion was heart wrenching) something which a game should do, because it's a game, not a movie.

Ultimately people can like it or hate it, I choose to in between that spectrum, and discuss what I hate (the streamlining of mechanics, the rather atrocious guild quests, the fact that a lot of the extra loot you get for finishing a specific condition in guild quests gives you jack shit) and what I liked (the skill tree system, the amount spells, the atmospheric element on occasion)

If you enjoyed it, great, if it got you into gaming, I'd recommend trying out Morrowind and Oblivion, it'll either make you appreciate Skyrim more, or it'll help you see the flaws that I'm talking about.

I finished the game completely, Wabbajack is only temporary, and rather short. Gone are the days where Sheogorath put you in his world and had you do 3 puzzles with the wabbajack in Oblivion.
Besides, the Guild Quests should be top notch, because they're a story in a bigger picture. The side quests are nice, but they're ultimately just that, side quests, if you're going to create a story at large where there's a story within a story and you're involved, you better make it interesting you know? Or else it just does one of the biggest gaming sins, and that is, make an element in the game a chore.

Well, that's kind of a truism, being honest is cheap in comedy. Colbert's talent comes from taking current events and spinning them into something enjoyable to take in, no matter how controversial or partisan it can be.

I don't watch TV much anymore, but when I used to, he would twist the story to be enjoyable by quoting other stuff that happened in the past, and proving the thing wrong.

For example, back in 2006 when Hezbollah was in War with Lebanon, and America was classing hezbollah as terrorists which they aren't, he started proving they're fighting for a reason. (I don't remember exactly what he said, but it was something along those lines.)

Yeah, it does take balls to try to argue in favor of the underdog in post-9/11 America.

I despise the use of Matrix allegory in politics, it's pretentious and tries to pass off zeal of the convert as rational. Sorry, just nitpicky.

That said, Colbert is a pretty brilliant guy in general. Pretty much 99% of criticism against him is "liberals can't have freedom of speech because my liberal friend is annoying".
User avatar #60472 - cedrock (03/28/2014) [-]
I visit /pol/ alot, what do you expect? What I mean by the redpill thing, is that he just speaks the truth, since the news sometimes is misleading and doesn't make much sense.

User avatar #60353 - cedrock (03/27/2014) [-]
IDF = Internet Defense Force / Israel Defense force.

In this case, I meant the first one.

The J = Jewish. There are other "IDF" words with different letters in the beginning.
